I'm so sick of the round based matchmaking in Trials
Seriously, the first weekend that Trials came back we went flawless on all characters, but once all the newbies were gone and it was back to business as usual - streamers/sweaties - it went back to sucking. I'm so sick of getting to the last game and losing, whether it's lag or legit, getting to the 9th match and losing makes you hate Trials and never want to play it again. Is this what Bungie wants? Is Trials intended to only be enjoyable by a small sect of the Destiny community and be a lesson in frustration for everyone else?
I seriously would love to hear from a Bungie staffer on this. Because for most people, Trials isn't fun, it's frustration filled with teabaggers and people that send hate mail. I've been a diehard Bungie fan since the '90's, but ever since year 2 of Destiny I feel like Bungie has pushed aside their "fun first" philosophy for attempting to achieve what they perceive as balance or competitiveness. It's even caused unneeded nerfs to the PvE side of the game.
Year 1 Trial's matchmaking was much better than the round based we've had since year 2. Anyway, I'm ready to hang up the Trials towel, I've been flawless plenty of times since Trials released last year, but it's become more frustrating than it's worth, plus IB loot has been on point. Trials is fun when you feel like you have a chance, but it's so sweaty that it's not fun, it's just stressful. #EndRant
Edit: I keep seeing a common response along the lines of, "you suck the lighthouse isn't meant for" or "you'll never make it flawless", so here's this, I'm not the best player ever but I've been flawless more than once. Also, I mainly play on PS4, but bnet shows people my Xbox account by default for some reason. So before anyone else tells me I'm trash because of my 320 light character, know that I never play on Xbox, my PS4 account is my main.

Let's not hear the bs about you alt account or your sister plays your account either. Calidan777 you have been flawless 1 time. You have not had above a 0.75 trials kd for the past 6 months. I might have sympathized for your cause if you were just honest. Wait actually I probably wouldn't have. I love the challenge of trials and improving, still looking forward to my second flawless.

2 通の返信Elitists cried like little girls when it was SBMM because they got a taste of their own medicine. Bungie appeased them by making it card based. Elitists no longer face each other on a regular basis and get to feel good about curb stomping everyone in their way. If they were truly [i]skilled[/i], they'd want to play against the best. Their crying to point of Bungie giving Trials it's own special matchmaking proves they're a bunch of whiny little scrubs that feel more self entitled than anyone that they accuse of thinking they are "entitled". "I can't do 100 carries if I have to play against my skill level!" Yeah... explain the logic. If you can't do 100 carries against your own skill level, guess what? You aren't as skilled as you've lead yourself to believe. That being said... Bungie still caters to Trials Elitists. Don't expect any changes.

1 返信Yeah, Bungie ruined trials with their stupid matchmaking. The only people who can obtain the lighthouse gear are streamers and people who play 40 hours a week. Unless there's a rare chance where you actually get match made with people of a similar skill set (9 times in a row LOL). Mostly it's just die hards though.

2 通の返信there is nothing special about the gear from there anyway other than it can drop at 400 now. once you have the emblems and maybe 1 or 2 gear you might want there isn't really anything fun about it, it's like sweaty skirmish where almost every game has somebody with a dollar store internet connection and you only get rewarded once per character. the gold tier reward even caps out at 390 :\

1 返信It is not for everyone. Just because you bought the DLC does not mean you are entitled to get flawless (elite level) loot. Like the lead dev said: It's not meant for the average player (Casuals.).

It's not like a strike or a raid. It's PvP. You can't expect that to be altered so that you can win. Know what it takes for you to go flawless? Beating 9 other teams. And that means that 9 other teams are gonna whine that they didn't go flawless.
