Monitor or TV?
I preordered a PS4 pro. (Cue the hate, my PS4 is on its last leg at almost 3 years old).
I am already going to get a second screen for the guest room to cut down on conflict with the wife, and I'm looking to get something in 4K. I was wondering if there was any benefit to getting a monitor. I believe that PS4 games won't have a frame rate above 60 hz and I was looking at a 4K 40" Bravia TV with gaming mode with 33ms input lag.
Based on those points, I am leaning toward the TV, but wanted to hear from you guys if I am missing any information that would make a monitor a better buy.
Edit: Thanks for the input so far, guys. From what I've gathered from here and from other research, a monitor is important if I want to mainly play pvp FPS or are in a smaller space. Looking at high end monitors, they are overkill for consoles in general.
Interestingly, I found that Vizio televisions have the lowest input lag of any TV on the market and the D and P series TVs are considered by some to be acceptable for PC gaming.

Input lag differences between Monitors and Tvs are measured in milliseconds (0.001 of a second vs 0.01) it's such a mundane thing to argue, anything under 20ms is basicaly instant. Realy the only difference is would you rather a TV with all it's features or just a screen ie. Monitor.

1 返信I assume you are getting 4k because you like visual quality. Game mode throws out that visual quality. I recommend not using it.

Just get a hdr tv for it. Consoles really don't benefit much from monitors anyway since motion blur is enabled in 99% of console games and can't be disabled. A good television will typically have the same latency as a good monitor; around 10ms.
