Splicer vandals have armor on their head, aim lower closer to their neck/chin to get a crit on them.

That still doesn't really make sense. Most Fallen enemies have protected heads, but we can still shoot them off with no problem. It's not meant to be on the neck, else they would have a different animation when being shot in the neck -other than losing their heads (like how the Vex break in half when you get a precision kill on them) I've had some instances where shooting up and to the left or right of their heads will work too, but every time I aim directly into their head, it doesn't work. It's like their precision hitbox is a donut around their head. They just really need to fix their hit boxes.

Based on my sniping test, aiming his neck definitely does nothing but body shot. The most reliable spot I've managed to find is his lower mask, which is the area between the chin and vision blocks. Anyway, whether intended or not, this is not a good idea. Such small crit area has already eliminated any possibility to headshot them with HC or AR at medium range; considering that Vandals can appear as snipers, this potentially makes them more annoying than Captains.

Not that I'm saying you guys are wrong, but is there any confirmed source for this (I.E. a grimoire entry that states that their heads were heavily armored, but the neck was more vulnerable -or a statement from Bungie regarding their weak points.) Otherwise, this all just sounds like conjecture from the PNN. Like I said, realistically, most of our enemies have armored heads (I mean, have you SEEN a knight without its helmet?) If we can score a precision hit on these obviously more-heavily-armored heads, why are these Splicer Vandals a different story? If you do have a source, please let me know. I would very much like to read up on this.
