For those who haven't heard, or didn't break out the magnifying glass and read all the fine print, don't expect to get on today and use your shiny new Iron Gjallarhorn. You see, you're not really getting the weapon like the thousand of commercials promised. It was all a corporate lie to make you spend your money. You only get the Gjally after you do the quest to get it, the same way as everyone else who didn't preorder it. The "Iron" stuff is only a skin, NOT the full weapon.
Maybe I'm making too big of a deal about this, but I'm feeling very lied to right now. I agree the whole "pay real money for an in-game gun" idea was wrong from the start, but that's what they advertised for months. Now everybody gets on hoping to play with it only to figure out there was some small print somewhere that was hiding the truth? Bungie has lost my trust because of this. If I could return this preorder, I really might, just to tell them where to shove this corporate bullsh!t. This is some cheap move a company like EA would pull, I thought Bungie was above this.
Edit: It's been a while since I've been on the forums, so maybe this was discussed and well known beforehand, but if you're going to be blind and not see the bullsh!t Bungie is trying to pull here, you're being ignorant. Maybe people who still play the game daily knew this, but for us millions of people who quit, this wasn't made common knowledge. This was a marketing scheme, a lie, and I'm not a Bungie homer who's gonna just say it's OK because it was in the fine print.
Guess it just amazes me that so many people are used to this kind of crap from Bungie that they're OK with it...
Edit 2: For those of you saying they discussed this on streams or on other forum posts, that is only addressing a small percentage of their audience. This obviously a marketing scheme aimed at people like me who haven't been paying attention to the game and all the details. Hiding the truth in the fine print should not be ok, and it saddens me to see many of you defend Bungie for this. Yes, this was my error for trusting what they said in the commercials, for trusting Bungie. I thought this was a company that wouldn't resort to this low level of trickery in order to get players back, guess I was wrong. I just don't think that yelling lies in your commercials is justified with small print.
Edit 3: Do all of you work for insurance companies? Hiding the truth in fine print while deceiving your audience with false claims is not something that should be ok. When Comcast or AT&T pull this, everybody hates on them, so why is it ok for Bungie to do this? This was an intentionally deceptive campaign meant to trick people into buying this game. Whether or not you fell for it isn't the point, the point is that Bungie should be above this kind of crap and shouldn't have tried to lie to get players back.

1 返信It's always been a quest big guy, relax and enjoy the quest and subsequent reward.

1 返信That's what they said all the time that everyone gets a Gally, you have to do the quest first. It is not their fault if you are incapable of finding this information either directly from bungie or from the legion of youtubers dedicated to Destiny.

Lol never mind the rest of the poorly thought out rant, the "it was a corporate lie designed to take your money" has me cracking the f up. Here I thought that the money I paid was for the game, and that the preorder bonuses were, uhh, bonuses. Gosh I sure am mad after finding out that the game was free and they money spent was for a gun and sparrow.

1 返信Just because you cant read doesn't mean bungie are trying to ripped you off. Grow up young lady.

Explain to me how knowing that the iron ghorn was a skin and that there would be a quest associated with getting the ghorn is being blind? There was no "corporate lie" here, they were crystal clear about it, you just couldn't be bothered to pay attention. Looks more like you were blinded by "OMG I can pay real money for a ghorn and not have to work for it!"

I pre-ordered "Rise of Iron" (on the PS4) through Gamestop's website on the 18th and haven't received my skins or Ghjallawing sparrow. Kinda' disappointed, but then again, that's what I get for pre-ordering through Gamestop. Never again.

You bought something whilst not paying attention, you say it yourself. How is that anyones fault other than your own? You werent lied to, you just made a rash assumption, and were wrong in a vastly inconsequential manner. Because playing the game is such a hardship right?
