For those who haven't heard, or didn't break out the magnifying glass and read all the fine print, don't expect to get on today and use your shiny new Iron Gjallarhorn. You see, you're not really getting the weapon like the thousand of commercials promised. It was all a corporate lie to make you spend your money. You only get the Gjally after you do the quest to get it, the same way as everyone else who didn't preorder it. The "Iron" stuff is only a skin, NOT the full weapon.
Maybe I'm making too big of a deal about this, but I'm feeling very lied to right now. I agree the whole "pay real money for an in-game gun" idea was wrong from the start, but that's what they advertised for months. Now everybody gets on hoping to play with it only to figure out there was some small print somewhere that was hiding the truth? Bungie has lost my trust because of this. If I could return this preorder, I really might, just to tell them where to shove this corporate bullsh!t. This is some cheap move a company like EA would pull, I thought Bungie was above this.
Edit: It's been a while since I've been on the forums, so maybe this was discussed and well known beforehand, but if you're going to be blind and not see the bullsh!t Bungie is trying to pull here, you're being ignorant. Maybe people who still play the game daily knew this, but for us millions of people who quit, this wasn't made common knowledge. This was a marketing scheme, a lie, and I'm not a Bungie homer who's gonna just say it's OK because it was in the fine print.
Guess it just amazes me that so many people are used to this kind of crap from Bungie that they're OK with it...
Edit 2: For those of you saying they discussed this on streams or on other forum posts, that is only addressing a small percentage of their audience. This obviously a marketing scheme aimed at people like me who haven't been paying attention to the game and all the details. Hiding the truth in the fine print should not be ok, and it saddens me to see many of you defend Bungie for this. Yes, this was my error for trusting what they said in the commercials, for trusting Bungie. I thought this was a company that wouldn't resort to this low level of trickery in order to get players back, guess I was wrong. I just don't think that yelling lies in your commercials is justified with small print.
Edit 3: Do all of you work for insurance companies? Hiding the truth in fine print while deceiving your audience with false claims is not something that should be ok. When Comcast or AT&T pull this, everybody hates on them, so why is it ok for Bungie to do this? This was an intentionally deceptive campaign meant to trick people into buying this game. Whether or not you fell for it isn't the point, the point is that Bungie should be above this kind of crap and shouldn't have tried to lie to get players back.

1 返信
The "Iron" stuff is only a skin, NOT the full weapon.
With the introduction of skins, I was 99% sure the community recognized that Iron Ghorn would just be a skin. You just are another case of hyping up something that already has an answer to what it will be like. The community does this a lot sadly.

2 通の返信Bungie lies. That's what they do. However, in this case, you should have known your pre-order bonus was a weapon skin only.

Fine print? The fück? Dude the information has been clear for months. Gosh you people all saying the same shit need to get your heads out of your asses and actually read more than a headline. Y'all are pitiful.

13 通の返信Sounds like you are learning an important life lesson right now. But this is how the world works. People/companies will spin their product in the best, most positive way they can without crossing the legal line of false advertising. There will be many *'s in your life. You will need to pay attention to them or become a "victim." And if you do become the person with the victim mentality you will most likely be criticized and ostracized by everyone who has learned to read the fine print and make well informed decisions. Be grateful you have learned this important life skill without any monetary consequence. You have literally lost no money in your poor comprehension of Bungie's advertising. That is arguably a free education. Learn your lesson from this and move on. Yeah, you feel cheated. I felt cheated after pre-ordering the Taken King. Those were total garbage perks for pre-ordering. But I didn't blame Bungie for it. I learned my lesson and won't make that mistake again. So remember the sour taste of this experience and don't make this mistake again. And be glad you learned this lesson now instead of when it really matters later in life like when you buy a house or something like that. That's where fine print will really matter. And come on, you were going to buy this expansion anyway. You didn't pay any extra money for your perceived rewards. And you can still play this game and get your iron Gjallerhorn and kick ass with it and have fun with your friends. That seems like a better option than complaining on these forums and getting all the hate from everyone.
Or are you just trolling?
It was all explained fully in the reveal streams, and subsequently by Bungie and many of us on the forum. We knew it was questline based, with final reward for all a GH, and if you pre-ordered it was "Iron Black"

4 通の返信Is the 3 light iron gjallarhorn supposed to immediately appear when I launch destiny? Or do I have to do something first?

Dude chill out. Bungie is making it fair for players. Of course the pre order bonus is just a re-skinned gally. What would you expect? If pre order players instantly got access and everyone else had to do a quest that wouldn't be fair. Quit whining, Bungie gave you EXACTLY what they promised.

It's been well known and well publicized in multiple social media outlets, as well as on the b.net website and forums that the Gjallarhorn was only available through a questline. And damn you for forcing me to defend BUNGLE. I HATE doing it but you forced it.
