Well, they explained a long time ago the level/light system. Short version is once you get to a specific level above enemies, they'll do a certain amount of damage to you, and your weapon damage will max against them. They said it was to keep older spots relevant in terms of gameplay, like patrols and stuff, iirc. That has nothing to do with the weapons themselves. That's a change that should be made with the PvE aspect of the game.

  • Well that is a good idea! Along with separating PvE and PvP so that nerfs and buffs only affect either or. You should feel powerful in PvE. It's what rewards those who have the best gear, who have grinded for many hours to become legend. You shouldn't feel weak, you should feel strong.

    I don't feel weak. I feel like I'm still pretty OP in PvE. It's too easy. ToO is more difficult. Also, I recall Bungie saying PvE and PvP are extensions of one another. You can go and get these awesome weapons, and take them into crucible and show them off and what not. Having said that, separating PvE and PvP don't matter to me. I still don't think endgame PvE should be any easier. Heroic Strikes literally take like 8 minutes a strike. Challenge of the Elders is like 20 mins a run, and not even a challenge. Raids are basically: 1. figure out mechanic 2. Learn mechanic 3. Profit. As much as I love Oryx, VoG is still the epitome of PvE gameplay, yet at your current light, you can demolish it with hardly any effort. You can kill Crota in like 2 swings, and down him with no effort. You really think you should feel more OP in PvE than you already are? Especially with Ghorn coming back, sheesh. People won't be happy until you can Gjally everything, Black Hammer returns with it's unlimited crit shots, and Ice Breaker recharges twice as fast at 385 light.

  • Yes PvE is too easy. Crota is what a Strike should be. The raids should be at least 3-4X larger with intricate mechanics and a heavy focus on teamwork. However, nerfing all the weapons and ammo capacity (except for the truly broken combinations like ToM/Blessing for example) is just stupid. It makes Guardians feel weak and PvE artificially harder.

  • Bro, 24 shots in a sniper? 24? Even now, I can pump out 19 on my Warlock with the right perks, and the general max is 18 now. As for ammo capacity, they should do it this way: No one finds ammo synths relevant (aside from heavy and the occasional special) since ammo is majorly abundant on the ground. Get rid of the cooldown timer for primary ammo, and decrease special ammo synth to one minute. Boom. Not only did you properly place a weapon to where it should be in capability, but you've added another layer of gameplay to a system rarely used. They could even add in a quick menu where you can access 4-5 items quickly so you don't have to press start to pop them. That wouldn't be hard. Even then, I'm still not convinced that weapons are hurting in PvE, aside from HCs, but HCs are hurting all across the board. RNG blooming shouldn't exist on them. That needs to be fixed asap.

  • It should be 1 min for primary, 2:50 for special and 5 for heavy.
