PSA: OWL and how to stop it.
Attention all guardians, this is a serious issue.
The variants of the OWL disease have been spreading rapidly through person to person. What ever you do, DO NOT CONTRACT THE DISEASE. Restrict yourself to patrols or not playing at all. Contracting the disease may give a buff for Exp or glimmer, but should not be trusted. A disease is a disease.
Patient "Zero" contracted the disease from the nightfall, most likely because the OWL website states that it started there. The crucible has been spreading it further, making it increasingly more common.
There are 5 variants of the disease. Each holds different buffs, but still shall not be trusted. The disease is spread by having an infected kill a non-infected using most likely their super or light. Avoid crucible and strikes all together.
I'm calling all of you to steer clear of crucible, a quarantine must be started. Until we know how to stop it and cure it, it will just infect more people. Please bump this post, the more involved in it whom aren't infected the better. Together we can find a cure to OWL to make our Rise of Iron adventures safe.

Important News: Getting a kill with a super and having a teammate pick up an orb of light will spread OWL. Defender Titans can not what so ever spread OWL. Please use this subclass in crucible to be safe.

5 通の返信It's not that bad. I mean, sure there's a constant buzzing around your head, and distracting lights, but once you get used to those you just have the hallucinations to deal with. The spare green space hippo in your peripheral really isn't that bad.

6 通の返信The virus isn't called OWL by the way. The Owl Sector is a Tower agency. The viruses are called by their individual names (Brilliance, Magnificence, etc.)

It's nanotech and it's subverting your armours systems not affecting the actual Guardians themselves, though currently it's boosting the armour stats and giving new armour effects. In theory you could end up having your armour subverted by a strain of the nanites that were aligned to splicers. Likely this would have a negative effect on armour systems as the nanites would be darkness infused.

If it was an outside source that would have negative impacts in the game itself, then servers would be shut down. It's an in game ploy from bungie. I love the theories and all, but I have a feeling that it being over thought. Lore wise, I think it's interesting as hell.

2 通の返信There is nothing to worry about. Bungie is not going to screw its players. Probably getting all the fly swarms will give us a special emblem or something.
