  • America certainly has it's problems, but there's no denying the rest of the world does also. From rioting after football games, to the astounding amount of -blam!- in poorer nations, to cartels actively at war with governments. The Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, the list goes on and on and on. The biggest problem with what you're trying to represent in your comment is the fact that you completely lose sight of the actual problem: Evil people exist in this world, and they exist everywhere. And here's an extra tip: Evil isn't new. Way before there was ISIS, King Charlemagne was beheading people who didn't convert to Christianity. Before that, vikings were ravaging parts of Europe, their most infamous attacks being one of their earliest recorded; an attack on a monastary, brutally killing all clergy and looting everything of value. But we as people never got as, I don't know, overwhelmed by evil as we seem to be now. The world is a lot 'smaller' now, and with information traveling at dizzying speeds, we hear all the stories, all the time. But another thing that has definitely changed, the fact that we've taken to point fingers rather than band together. The Allied Forces that arguably saved this world from chaos wouldn't be nearly as effective as it was decades ago. Too much mention of "American idiots" or French Wussies" and so on. I challenge that notion, and say it's time to put away the isolationism and jingoism. It's not doing us any favors. Frankly, we're divided, and easily conquered as a consequence. Those who would see the world burn are real, the negative perceptions of our neighbors are not. Yet both of these can prove very dangerous. And just for the record, don't trust your local media for an accurate depiction of the United States as a whole. Those same five Americans holding the misspelled signs protesting gay rights are about as indicative of our culture as those five Islamic Extremists Fox has been showing us for decades are of Muslim people.

  • I thought you weren't alowed to post thoughtful, intelligent responses on this site. At least that's the impression I've gotten so far. Aren't you afraid you're going to get banned? 😉

Everything you've said is spot on. 110%. It's like we're twins. Sometimes keeping it short and in a "meany" and snarky way, it has more impact on both high IQed and dumbed down people. Nothing will change, ever, if we continue to allow the military industrial complex and the most disgusting, deformed and most ugly bad actors on the planet(politicians) to rule the sheep towards the cliff.
