I can't fathom the thought process behind removing the Stagger effect from MIDA for PvP when PvE was the reason it was added in the first place back in Year 1. Now it's back to being no better than a regular scout rifle. Prime example of PvP yet again ruining PvE. Good job, guys.

The nerf was based on PvP. The charts they showed in the patch notes should its usage and it was only high in PvP. In PvE it was average. Did you even read them the notes are you just pulling shit out of your ass? I'm gonna go with latter.

Just a question, because I can't seem to understand all the complaints about the upcoming change regarding MIDA. Is high caliber rounds sort of a hidden perk on this weapon? Because it's not a perk on mine and tbh, I've never noticed any effect like I did when using weapons with high caliber rounds.

Yes. Back in Year 1, players complained about how underwhelming MIDA was in PvE, so they gave it the staggering effect as an intrinsic ability, which was actually stronger than High Caliber Rounds. And now, for whatever reason, they're removing it. I find it a bit odd, because, if I remember correctly, it was tested, and established that perks like High Caliber Rounds don't effect the amount of flinch weapons deal in PvP, only PvE.

So the Y2 MIDA doesn't even have it? That would explain why I've never noticed it. And in this case the nerf wouldn't even effect the Y2 MIDA. Hmmm.. Not sure why everyone's complaining. I like the Y2 MIDA a lot.

The year 2 Mida DOES have it. It is called an intrinsic perk. Like Truth has a hidden intrinsic perk called tripod. It's not in the perk tree, but in the weapon for free. With it gone it will no longer stagger people in crucible and yellow bar majors in PVE. When you use the current Mida and rapidly fire at a major, you can keep him stun locked for the remaining portion of his health or till you run out of bullets.

Thanks for clarification.. Didn't know that, and I've never really noticed it either. But now I understand why many dislike the change Bungie is going to make about the MIDA. Even though I still think it's not that much of a deal. If MIDA shows to be far less effective than before, just switch to a different weapon. No biggie imho.

It's really easy, just watch the screen. Many scouts have option to stagger the target, like NL-shadow etc., even Suros staggers well. Aim at the head and you'll see the difference, enemy won't be able even to hit you properly.
