Bungie, you said on the stream that the reason you don't seperate PvP and PvE stats are because our guardian is our guardian everywhere we go. Part of Bungie's design philosophy is to make sure that weapons work the same no matter the activity.
If this is so, then why are all your balance changes based solely on PvP usage of the weapons?
Surely if part of your design philosophy is to ensure en equal experience across playmodes, then why do you not take into account how the guns are used in PvE when making your decisions.
MIDA for example - was nerfed solely because it was "overused" (according to Bungie) in PvP. So you take away the knockback / stagger and in doing so destroy the weapon's usefulness in PvE. It will now underperform any number of legendary scouts which do not take up the exotic slot.
If you're going to use parity between PvP and PvE as an excuse, then you should make sure that your metrics collection and playtesting play by those same rules. It's clear that as of today, they do not.

4 通の返信Don't see why people are getting so upset about the stagger rounds, do you really need to stagger a dreg? I use mida mainly for extra agility on my warlock, so won't make any difference to the gun for me.

I agree. While this go around really could have been worse for the pve environment, they really need to look at pve when concidering their weapon and subclass changes.... And, if they are, and see no compelling needs in that sector, or at least believe their changes will have little to no impact there, they should at least address that they took it into consideration. I'm all for pvp balance, but I'm tired to the pvp scene dictating EVERYTHING in the game as far as design choices/changes.

They respond to our posts with patches and sense all of the posts as of EVER have been cry baby posts about snipers tlw thorn icebreaker doctrine and mida they responded... Blame yourself for not asking for pve patches since I've only seen like 1 pve complaint as of late

1 返信Bungie have and always will cater to the PVP crowd. Easiest crowd to keep hanging around without heavy fresh content requests.

7 通の返信Bungie's biggest -blam!--up with the game was allowing PvE weapons in Crucible- period. When you consider the fact that each weapon (non-exotic) can roll different perks, a 'god roll' can definitely give someone an advantage at any time. As a result, there will NEVER be a 'balanced' PvP. (this is the TL;DR point; read on if you want) For example, two Eyaslunas going up against each other at mid range, one with Hammer forged/LiTC and the other with Icarus/Send It; the one with HF already has the edge at range, and if the LiTC procs within the first 2 shots, that guardian wins every time. So what can Bungie do about that??? Why, nerf LiTC of course! The Crucible actually becomes balanced when everyone uses the same weapons (meta); however, Bungie goes out of their way to prevent this by always -blam!-ing things up. They nerf/buff weapons until the community finds a 'new' meta, instead of simply doing THE best balance they could possibly do- get rid of special/heavy weapons in PvP and offer a selection of crucible primaries that all have the same TTK. The only problem with this is that 'skilled' players will completely dominate Crucible and the casuals will never get their 'lucky' kills with special/heavy weapons. This goes against Activision's 'Everyone gets a kill' foundation. It has destroyed CoD- you don't even have to aim anymore; simply point your gun in the general direction and it will lock on to your target like a fly to shit. It makes every casual feel like a Faze candidate... NO SKILL REQUIRED. And look where we are in Destiny- we are constantly grinding for 'god roll' weapons (how many Maloks/Loops did you farm for?)... why? Because it reduces the skill gap compared to using weapons with shitty perks, and gives us the best possible advantage we can have at getting a kill. Bungie logic never ceases to amaze me- and I don't mean that in a good way...

4 通の返信Did it ever occur to you that the design team use the Crucible as a weapons testing ground? I mean come on, are you telling me that anything in this game is difficult now? No...? Why's that? Your weapons. Look how fast some snipers are annihilating those Light Eater Ogres in the Raid for example.

12 通の返信The points that will affect me the most are the reduction in the number of rounds for the Qullim's Terminus and the 1KYS. Qullim's Terminus is almost a requirement for the oryx part of the raid, especially the shade and taking the gaze on Golgoroth. The 1KYS is great for taking out the ogres but if I read this correctly then the number of rounds is being decreased from 4 to 3. That's a 25% reduction in damage to ogres before you have to reload.... A VERY poor decision IMHO. For PVP I can see why they did these changes but I think these changes have been implemented in a really bad way. There just seems to be a nerf mentality running through most of the decisions and balancing doesn't seem to come into it. Bladedancers and Sunbreakers' hit detections were not fixed in this update but most of the changes were to nerf stuff. It's another case of - "who want's a nerf to the ice-breaker?.....No-One?....great, we'll nerf it."

Agreed! They need a double set of perks. You switch between the two on the weapons perk menu. One for pvp and one for pve. You cant enter pvp without switching to the pvp perk tree. This doesnt change your guardians "legend" just the weapons perks.

Zonkerblにより編集済み: 4/7/2016 2:51:47 PMWhat's funny is the reason they nerfed the Mida is everyone was using it, the reason everyone was using it was because it was the only counter to snipers, which were the current meta because everything else got nerfed. Solution? Buff res sniping and nerf the Mida.

4 通の返信Warlocks get no other extra support capabilities Flame shield is rng to encourage players to use.....solar wind? Ass perk. Brimstone? Maybe depending on how much damage it does. Everyone is bitching about mida in pve. Who tf uses mida in pve?

High Cal Rounds wasn't the weapons problem. It's was its 90 aim assist that literally allowed bullets to bend around corners, it hardly needed to be aimed. So they basically ruined its usefulness in contesting snipers, and lost its exotic slot in my PvE load out because it no longer staggers enemies.

1 返信Balance is way more important in pvp than pve that's why. Mida will still be usable in pve even after the nerf. You have so many more options in pve so get over it
