Came across a Facebook post that someone had shared; it was a man standing on the American Flag in protest. He was supporting it and calling it "beautiful".
This makes me crazy angry. I haven't commented but I'm tempted to. Those protesters who desecrate my flag should feel lucky because if I ever see someone doing this in public, I will make sure they have a bad day.
I don't get offended by most things, but this is one. Especially when it's someone from that country doing it. I think it's offensive no matter which country's flag this is being done to.
Who here agrees?

I think of that, as well as burning the flag, as a way of showing an opinion, or conveying a message, and our 1st Amendment to the Constitution says that a citizen has the right to freedom of speech, and that's what I see it as. They have the freedom to do so.

1 返信I hate this generation that take living in America for granted. All they do is say how great Europe is compared to America and how they want to move to Europe. Damn hipsters need to put some cyanide in their tea. I bet they'd want to move straight back to the U.S. after they've lived in Europe with the refugee crisis going on.
no ban pls
o ESPY oにより編集済み: 3/21/2016 8:47:50 PMIt's disrespectful period. Unfortunately rudeness isn't illegal. And for my argument of being disrespected because it's just a thing, it's simple. (Is it disrespectful to piss and shit on someone's grave that you didn't even know?) yes, (but it's just a grave..) yeah but it symbolizes what's left of that person, and the life they lived. Same Goes for the flag, it's a symbol, so desecrating it is offensive to people who actually have patriotic believes.

I wouldn't be offended. I'd probably think the person doing it is stupid for thinking that their "protest" is anything other than standing on dyed fabric thinking that it would accomplish anything other than pissing off some overzealous nationalists, who think the same thing.

19 通の返信Coming from a US Marine, it's not offensive. It's not illegal. However, assaulting someone IS illegal so GG, OP. If you have such a hard dick for 'Merica maybe you should suffer and bleed for it.
But you won't
Here's my points: 1) If you hate this country so much that you would literally wipe your ass with a representation of it, why don't you move? 2) Change that flag to a white guy and a black pride flag. How many people on this thread would have gone from "that's your freedom of speech in action, idiots!" to "That guys a racist -blam!-er that doesn't deserve to live!"? So many people made such a roar over someone flying the confederate flag or would over a n.azi flag but those same people will say it's fine to desecrate the American flag. The hypocrisy on this thread is toxic.

That is one of the few things that is highly offensive to me. If you're a U.S. Citizen then you should hold that flag in the highest honor, because of all the people who died for that flag and your right to criticize it.

I will not give my opinion, because it is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but this needs to be said, and can be used for any situation: "just because you are offended, doesn't mean that you are right and the other person is wrong."
