343i: Adds Forge into Halo 5 a few months after release, gets tons of flak.
Bethesda: Promises console modding support, still no news on a release date, gets almost no flak.
Treyarch: Adds microtransactions for cosmetic skins, gets tons of flak. Adds new weapons only available through either buying said microtransactions or grinding, gets even more flak.
Valve: Has countless weapon skins in CS:GO, almost impossible to get any without buying microtransactions, gets almost no flak. Adds tons of different weapons with extremely different stats and effects from eachother in TF2, gets almost no flak.
Cmon guys, if you're gonna go after devs for doing this stuff, at least don't cherry-pick which ones you're gonna get angry at.

4 通の返信I give flak based off how bad the offence is. I give Halo 5 flak because to this day they lack the content that the other Halo games had at release. Halo should have been pushed back a full year, simple as that. Get some split-screen, forge, and all those core game modes of Halo before you release your halo game. I don't give Bethesda flak because for 1, they did say the general time that they would be released, and for 2 because console modding is not a thing. Can you imagine what would happen if people started flooding Xbox with nude mods? They'd get complaints up the ass. Bethesda needs to make a way for these things to not happen. And for bugs I personally have experienced 1 bug and 2 crashes in 70 hours of gameplay. If I did experience them often I would give them flak for it. I don't give Treyarch flak for skins because they're skins, I do give them flak for the new weapon though because it is new content that is defined by RNG. Imagine if you bought a DLC and a dice came up on the screen and said "sorry, please buy again." I don't give valve flak because it's just skins. Who I bitch about entirely depends on how much they deserve. Small amount of flak for small things lots of flak for big things.

1 返信There is nothing wrong with micro transactions when it is just cosmetics. It helps the company update the game. You are like a Bernie supporter you want everything for free. Get over it.

10 通の返信But Bethesda adding mod-support isn't taking part of the game out? It's adding a feature that wasn't in the previous titles at a later date. Forge should've been in H5 at launch. Along with a story that isn't trash, more playlists, and a file browser! But hey, compare apples and oranges XD see where that gets you.

3 通の返信Bethesda doesn't deserve hate cuz they have made some of the best games ever made. Bethesda cares about its costumers, other companies do not

2 通の返信TotallyNotDrewにより編集済み: 2/25/2016 6:29:08 PMThe only time Bethesda released the GECK on release was with Morrowind. And they've never released console modding. Meanwhile in Halo 5, Forge, something that's always been released with the game, was put in almost half a year later, and we're still missing a file share. Completely different context.

3 通の返信Bethesda plans on releasing geck between the release of the 1st and 2nd DLC (sometime in April).

3 通の返信It's more about reputation. If a company has a string of bad moments or are known to have a bad reputation to a certain degree, gamers are less inclined to forgive and trust them. A large reason that a people don't really harp on Valve is their great reputation for interacting with the community or being more lenient. Best example that I can think of is how pokemon is handling spin-offs and how Valve is handling it. The pokemon creators have been on a copyright streak while Valve helped someone with a half life 2 spin-off/recreation and let the creator sell it at full price. (This is from my recent memory so it could be off, but it's something along these lines.)

9 通の返信OH NO THEY DON'T HAVE A RELEASE DATE FOR CONSOLE MODS! *GASP* IT'S ALMOST LIKE... IT TAKES TIME TO MAKE THE G.E.C.K AND TO INCORPORATE IT INTO CONSOLES. God quit whining about small things like this you impatient brat.

2 通の返信Yeah, Bethesda really needs to step up their shit. The fact that they couldnt release Skyrim DLC on PS3 is laughable, and really is inexcusable. Also, melee combat felt akin to something I would play on ps1 or a dreamcast. Fallout does it alright, but damn does it go awry with Skyrim.
-
6 通の返信I think 343 got shit because players felt it should have been available at launch. It's free, so it's all cool with me, even if I did have to wait.

7 通の返信Bethesda: Delivers buggy games that are unfinished, knowing the modding community will finish it for them. Doesn't know how to design quests, so everything you do is a massive fetch quest in some way or another. Don't know how to design a proper combat system. Don't innovate at all, still using the same engine for the last 3 games of theirs.
-
With forge they didn't release it because it wasn't finished or ready whatever. You could say Halo 5 didn't launch complete but if everything but one mode is fine them i don't mind it being pushed back so it can release smooth. Plus it was free. And i play Bethesda games on both console and PC. Pc doesn't have the dev kit for Fallout 4 yet and console still doesn't have mods. But I've still put over 3 days onto Fallout 4 without mods and have been having fun. I've got over 11 days on Skyrim on the 360, no mods and I've had a great time with it. Mods aren't everything i need to enjoy a game. Call of duty. Yeah I'd much prefer if i could just flat out buy the weapons but at the same time i don't care as I've only seen one person use any of the guns so far. Doesn't detract from the enjoyment I've had on the game though. It all depends on the game as well. Coding and all that is hard, a vast majority of game designers don't make too much but then work a shit ton of hours and sacrifice a lot just for fans to get their work and complain about something instead of enjoying what's already there.

20 通の返信Roronoa Zoro (Timelost)により編集済み: 2/21/2016 6:45:29 AMBethesda literally never gave a time table for their mod support. You really can't fault them for that.

12 通の返信tf2 is free and csgo is 15 dollars with no steam sales. Black ops 3 cost 60-110 dollars, and the new weapons look more fun, and in the case of the mx more op, than anything in the base game. Their drop rates and cryptokey earn rates are also terrible
-
1 返信MiltonTheMangoにより編集済み: 2/21/2016 7:01:33 AMForge is an integral part of the halo experience. Console mod support was never given a release date and is an extra bonus that has never been on consoles before and is not a missing feature. CS:GO is also 15 dollars with skins only that you can sell to make money. Cods microtransactions allow you to get new guns what would other wise most likely take a long time to drop.
-
1 返信You can't compare CS:GO to Cod. One game has been out years, has set the gold standard for online net-code, is the most competitive shooter on the market. The other is a yearly franchise with an awful net-code that's all about milking the casual player base.
-
16 通の返信Yeah but TF2 and CS:GO are all cosmetics you can get. Bo3 just added actual new weapons to their drops.
