I only have one King's Fall completion- and the other day I was nominated to be runner (on HM). It was great to get the vote of confidence, but I then proceeded to slip off the ghostly rocks twice in a row.
I was just wondering, is there a trick to running those platforms? My new theory is that it is better to try to skip (jump immediately) off the rocks rather than make a solid landing. I think maybe I was bouncing off. Or do you try to land on the near side?
Anyway, just thought the experienced runners out there would have some good tips.
edit: Thanks for all of the great tips! Sounds like I need practice, mainly. But can tweak my agility, adjust where I land, and look ahead to the next jumps. Oh, and keep my sprint speed up and stop being so dang tentative....
edit2: In case anyone else is reading this to get tips (and to keep it straight in my own head), here's what I've got so far:
(1) Practice, practice, practice
(2) Bones of Eao or triple jump (or both)
(3) Keep your sprint speed up and don't stop unless you have to
(4) Aim for the nearer side of the rock (but not too close to the edge)
(5) When you're learning it, don't have agility maxed- you can have too much agility
(6) Look ahead to the next jump and adjust your aim in flight so you're ready to jump right after you land
edit 2:
(7) Time your jumps (letting yourself drop a bit, not hititng jump three times in rapid succession) so you don't get too high and have better control over distance

1 返信I just sprint jump off everyone but practice makes perfect and the more you do it the little things you will learn with different classes, dont use the bones of eao for it! It will make you over jump the platforms if you dont judge it right you can triple half of them and double jump half of them! It tend to change the angle of the camera before i land on the platform to the next platform im going to jump to.

6 通の返信It's the easiest job in the fight. Since you can't do it I see why you have only one completion.

6 通の返信I run relic for teams during the week when I'm bored and sick of lag in the crucible and probably have around 85 or 90 oryx completions. Here are some things I have learned... I have found that running on a hunter is the most forgiving as you can jump again to correct yourself so I usually run as a hunter. Bones of Eao are definitely not required (use celestial nighthawk). There are only one or two times that you will need to jump more than once to make it to the next platform. You will NEVER need three jumps. You need to learn where you can jump once and where you have to jump twice. So you have to practice from each of the starting plates to know this (front left, front right, back left, back right). I am always running and jumping on the platforms without ever stopping. As soon as you land on one you should be jumping to the next. The quicker you get the relic the faster your buddies can get off the plates. When starting from the left (front or back) you will end up in the front where the ship spawns. I am always standing there waiting for the vessel to appear because I am fast (not bragging -lol..just stating a fact). The only downside to this is sometimes I have almost died because the eye that spawns can kill you if you have to wait too long for the vessel to appear. If you are a little slow for some reason - be careful and dont jump down to where the ship is appearing or it will kill you. When starting from the right (front or back) you will end up in the back and will have a longer way to go to get the relic. Make sure you run through the titan bubble as you run up to grab the relic as there are eyes that will have spawned if your crappy plateholders didnt snipe them (usually the case). Don't run right up the middle if there are eyes - they can kill you pretty easy. Just run to the left of the center lane a little bit - it doesnt take anymore time. I havent been able to get there prior to the vessel spawning when starting from the right (but damn near close most of the time) because you have to run farther. No biggie. Use celestial nighthawk instead of a sword (if your team has another hunter) - its faster. As soon as you grab the relic pop your super and one shot him as you are running back to your teammates. Take charge and instruct them what to do - ie be the countdown guy when exploding the bombs and dont forget to keep his chest open....

3 通の返信Max out agility and those raid boots help out tremendously. Just make sure you don't die running to the vessel. For hunters I run triple jump and I keep sprinting the whole time, landing completely on each pad (not bouncing). Landing on one side running completely to the other and jumping when I reach the edge. Only during one or two (depending on position) times through each run do I need that triple jump. For titans just hover onto each plate and when I run to the edge jump off and hover to the next (pretty much toggling your lift) For warlocks. Eh. I got rid of mine. No need for waste... :3

1 返信No idea what class you are. I play hunter, with triple jump, just aim your first jump a bit short and then use the extra jumps to *just* make each one. Easy. Only ever taken off once

1 返信Looks like you've received enough advice already but: Bouncing is good! As long as you're facing the right direction when you bounce.

Also if you have a raze lighter it makes quick work of the light eater that you are supposed to kill. Also when you drop down take an extra second to grab the blessings bubble in the center where your titans are burning ogres. Also the song by white snake. "Here I go again" is the song you should be singing in your head while running relic.
