Dear Bungie, I wanted to share my experience starting from October 2014 till today with you. When I originally began to play Destiny I had set my XBOX to German and so your game was also presented to me in German. First off I like to say that most of the translations are really good, especially the voice over is on point most of the times (Lord Shaxx sounds better in English - esp. in Crucible - but the German dubbing actor did a great job, too!). But there are a bunch of things that are translated terribly and don't even make sense or are saying something different in German than the original English text. I am mostly referring to the weapons' subtitles, where the Black Spindle exotic perk comes to mind. The translation in German isn't really saying what the perk really does. It somehow baffles more than it explains and without knowing how the gun is working and reading the English explanation you wouldn't probably understand what the perk really does from just reading the text. But what I find most annoying is this: The translations are often just simply wrong. One explanation that comes to mind is the new Taken King map "Cathedral of Dusk". The German translation for it is "Staubkathedrale" which would mean that it's "Cathedral of Dust" - the correct German phrase would be "Dämmerungskathedrale" or something of that sort. This becomes even more difficult when you try to google something and you can't get a German result. If you are able to translate weapons and stuff you will most likely not find anything and there is no database to get English translations for weapons (except using Bungie.net and switch languages). This lead me to setting my XBOX to English, even though I think 90% of the game is localized pretty good. Btw. there is another example of consternating translations: The well known perk "Final Round" stated that "the last round in the magazine does more damage". In German it said this since the beginning (not since the patch which changed the behaviour of the perk): "the last round in the magazin does bonus precision damage". The solution for these issues in my mind would be to use someone as a translator that does play the game and therefor has knowledge about perks, lore and Destiny in general so these translation issues can be set down to a minimum. It would also be great if the community could just translate it for you (via a website or sth. like that), because they pretty much know the game really well and a lot of players from Germany are able to speak and write pretty good in English. Hope you like my idea and if you ever need a translator: Most often I am in the bar listening to the jukebox in the tower. :D
