For a class that takes the most skill to use effectively, and from medium range, it is terribly underwhelming in PVP.
Tether takes WAY too long to activate. The arrow is pretty slow and easy to avoid. The new Void Wall grenade is basically RNG on which direction the wall will go, meaning most of the time you'll try to throw around a corner, but it's angle is totally off.
Vanish in Smoke doesn't get the benefits of Lockdown, so it's wasted in PVP.
Predator. Where do I start with that. Void traps sound good on paper, but are super easy to avoid. It's rare I actually get someone with it unless the tether is on an objective point. As soon as it registers an enemy near it, it charges up with a noise, the person just needs to keep sprinting normally to get out of range hilariously easily.
Snare doesn't have the problem Predator has, as the Smoke Grenade detonates immediately, but Predator should be doing the same. You already went through the trouble of using up your Super bar to set up a trap, so it should already be primed and charged and ready to tether.
Also, firing it is such a hassle. The best way to fire it is stationary from the ground, because even if you're walking and use it you'll just float away into oblivion, never to be seen again. The anti-grav floating thing is just way too much for this super. Why not go stationary in the air? Sure, there's situations where you can activate, float around a corner, and fire immediately at an enemy, but those are few and far between.
I dunno. Nightstalker just seems super underpowered, even with it being a support class.
What are your thoughts?
EDIT:: There's a lot of anger in the comments. Seriously? Yeah, I made this post, but it's just a game :\ What's with the inconsolable rage? Did mommy not bring home dinner or something? Sheesh. It's just a forum. Just a game. No need to throw things around your room before commenting.

I've seen hunters wrecking people with nightstalker, even with those "non-offensive" grenades. If you're a good player and you know how to use your void arsenal, you can easily win every single fight, trust me man.

42 通の返信You're kidding right? You get good grenades, smoke (which is ridiculously OP), permanent enhanced radar, and an evade with invincibility frames. Oh, and your super? You seem to be confused with HoS. Shadow shot moves extremely fast. It has even higher AA than golden gun. It tracks, for Christ's sake. If you miss, it's because you're retarded. You can have 3 projectiles, each of which is a OHK. It pulls people out of their supers, and leaves them as sitting ducks. And to top it all off, you get 75% DR through the whole animation. Yeah, clearly nightstalkers are underpowered.

2 通の返信The only thing I feel needs to be changed about Nightstalker is making the shadowshot shutdown supers IMMEDIATELY on a direct hit.

Run at control point B, throw smoke pellet, run to their control point, toss another smoke pellet. Throw grenade in between two points. Wait for super activation or Heavy ammo drop and hit them with tether. Throw smoke at tether and throw grenade. Rinse and repeat. Use keen scout to snipe and hey presto. There is a delay in tether, yes. But I dont agree that it should immediately tether. The Nightstalker class is very powerful and while i despise the voidwall and wish there was a way to control the angle, i think the Keen Scount and Smoke grenades more than make up for it.

The class is designed around area denial and ability suppression. It's not made for direct engagement like the two other classes. You use a support class, you have to be deliberate. Plan ahead and ambush/ surprise your enemy. The bow will not work in a pinch. It's designed that way. You hear a super, fall back, throw your bow against a corner/wall/doorway and lure the supered guardian into your bow. PRAISE THE SUN!

3 通の返信It may not be as badass as you want it to be in pvp but it's outstanding in pve. That's the trade off. Defenders suffer from it too

I run a lot a Nightstalker, and have played pvp a lot as well as this recent IB. Its hit and miss whether it takes too long or not, sometimes I need that couple seconds to pick out a shot, and other times I feel if I couldve fired faster I couldve taken out more enemies or set up for the rest of the squad. However I have had decent success in using Vanish in smoke in conjunction with Shadowshot. Using it right before you fire surprises so many players. ViS works well escaping situations when you notice facing too much opposition. I dont feel its underwhelming, it is a support class of course it could be made more lethal, but I dont know if its necessary or not.

I've played Night since TTK dropped, and I say it's actually really fun to use in PvP. I ran Vortex Grenade for the longest time, but after seeing the damage difference in Voidwall, I've found how to use it efficiently. The grenade, when thrown and on impact, will cast a horizontal wall. If it bounces, it'll likely go vertical or, rarely, diagonal. Use this to your knowledge; I've tried bouncing it off of walls to great effectiveness. As for the delay, I find it better than on impact. This is however mostly because I don't jump around a corner hoping to get a kill with it. It's a support; use it that way. By this, here's what I mean. I find Quiver to be absolutely useless for the very reason of a delay. That, and because it is very easy to dodge and miss all three shots, effectively wasting your super and the tether effect due to loss of range. I used black hole when I played. I find it much more effective against ST or any other mobile super coming at me. As for Predator, try it in Trials with black hole. I've used it on Vertigo over a gap. The enemy fell and got killed, and we won. It's a situational node, so therefore it's not recommended, but still has its uses. I think that's everything. Let me know if I missed anything.

I agree with OP. The subclass is underwhelming for direct damage compared to the other subclasses. I wish the tumble went farther or had additional I-frames. But the arrows definitely need to stop a super instantly and not take so long to activate.

1 返信I think the super is pretty fun in both pve and pvp. The only think they should adjust is that void wall grenade. It does like no damage and doesn't even last very long. It seriously needs a buff

You want to instantly stop someone else's super,.......and then continue to stop any supers that come within a certain distance and trap everyone else in range as well. Piss off Shit, you got goldengun. You can kill instantly, every other super in one shot from any range.
