And don't give me that crap about how they require skill. Thanks to bullet magnetism/aim assist and the broken hit boxes on player heads, You need only aim toward the players body and pull upward. It is too easy to aim at a doorway or choke point in game modes like Skirmish and Elimination where a head will appear and press RT/R2. Whenever I use a sniper, I pretty much know I'm going to do well against any player that isn't running a sniper. Even in close range, If you have Snap shot+Ambush, you simply aim in fast toward a players body, pull up, and aim assist will do the rest. It is too easy for players who would be trash at sniping in any other game to do good.
Add scope sway and remove aim assist and bullet magnetism from snipers and men will be separated from boys. As it stands now, games consist of nothing but head camping.
Edit: It also doesn't help that the hit box for player heads Is bigger than it should be. I'm pretty sure we're all guilty of shooting inches away from a enemy head and getting the kill. Another issue and while it may be more of gameplay issue, it certainly makes Sniper Rifles even more scary.

5 通の返信I thought Shotguns were the big deal for people wanting to have nerfed all the time. Now its Sniper Rifles? No offense, but quite literally this is how and why nerfing kills games. There's various guns that are generally more preferred by a majority of folks? They end up getting nerfed. This results in said majority gravitating to something else. Then that gets nerfed. It goes on and on like an endless, vicious cycle. In the end, what you end up having is a game that is horrendously unbalanced and damn near broken as a result. Especially when you're messing with archtypes. (All of any Weapon Type being impacted by said changes) Happens literally EVERYWHERE... And 9 times out of 10 its ALWAYS due to a developer trying to make people happy and give them what they want. Except in Destiny's case its even worse than that, because Bungie doesn't really give anyone what they want. Whether its nerfing or buffing, they always go too far or too little. Its always an extreme with this nonsense. Or they get crazy with it and start screwing with things that didn't need it in the first place. Just hit the friggen reset to default switch and let the community sort out their own crap. OR BETTER YET BUNGIE! How about you get with the times, reset the weapon balance back to factory settings and just include a damn "CUSTOM GAME" option for people that don't wanna deal with certain things. Then just include a search feature that allows players to add filters to their search results to find matches that suit their preferences. [b]Yeesh...[/b] (How are people still playing this game? I mean seriously, Destiny is not the only friggen game in existence. -__- )

Something killed me it must be OP nerf? Now look at my K/D it's horrible but I've never cried nerf why because I want to get good. Currently PvP is bad because nothing feels as it was before. No diversity in weapons AR = bad HC = bad FR = horrible ((it was my favorite)) PR = ok Shotgun = bad Sidearm = bad from the start SR = good but needs a buff Sniper = good from the start Rockets = good but it doesn't feel strong LMG = good "field scout nerf hurt it" BladeDancer vanilla nerf hurt it bad in PvE and the introduction of the new sub-classes made it look bad in PvP now. Sunbreake nerf was bad they nerfed to the ground they should not have touched it because if a player such as me ((below average PvPer)) can take him/her down anyone can. Bungie should grow some balls revert everything back to vanilla except Pulses to there pre patch and scouts should be buffed and BTW the TTK would still be slow. I hate PvP currently because I feel weak and I refuse to play it. I'll only play the daily for L.marks and that's that. BTW I main a Warlock.

3 通の返信I still don't have a 1000 Yard Stare, and I refuse to buy the crap roll one the Vanguard sells. I have been sniping in PvP since day 1, and can tell you that I agree. Now that shotguns have been Nerf'd to hell, and fusion rifles are watered down proton packs, more and more players have picked up sniping. It's bothersome and frustrating to those that like to prowl the battlefield hunting other Guardians, because now, everyone is doing it.

I must be playing a different version of Destiny than you. I never get any "magnetism" when sniping in PVP. Could it just be that other players are better than you? And I'm not saying I'm one of those people (I'm barely above 1.0 kd). Sniping is getting a little ridiculous because there are so many easy choke points on almost every map. You know what maps don't have a lot of snipers? The big open ones on the moon and earth! If they could expand the maps more and add different elevations then sniping would require some more skill than sitting on a choke point.

6 通の返信Provide proof of bullet magnetism otherwise BS. You have to understand that sniper rifles are distance weapons that are intended to be camped with. "Snipers may wear diapers, but they get all the ladies!" How exactly do you suppose people are supposed to use them? People already bitch about quick scoping, so that's a no. Can't sit in one place because that's "head camping" so that's another no. Problem: doesn't want people to move and snipe, nor sit and snipe. Scopes need sway and user must lose ADS upon getting hit and cannot get critical hits while taking damage. Body shots are not allowed to be lethal. Solution: remove firing pin from snipers. Snipers are intended to provide spotting for scout rifle users.

2 通の返信It is easy in destiny, but i don't think it's OP. I would like to see bullet drop and some more physics involved. Even scope sway is reasonable. decrease ADS accuracy while moving. No matter what they do, bungie will NEVER make a map actually big enough for the bullet drop to make a difference. As close quarters as these maps are, even scope sway would only be a minor annoyance. I wouldn't expect much to change. (I run sniper in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline sometimes. I have a 1300m headshot under my belt.)

4 通の返信Wait, so now we're complaining that people using weapons in the way they were intended to work is unfair? Of course it's easy to aim at a choke point and get kills that's why they're called chokepoints and not, "Damn that's a really difficult shot to make" points. Sway won't stop people from camping choke points and getting easy kills. And the "real men" don't camp choke points they keep moving and attack from everywhere. No, I am not a "real man". My snipe game is "capable" at best but I won't call foul because someone on the other team knows what they're doing and I'm too stupid to stop running into kill zones.

7 通の返信First things first, you should really do your research before you file a complaint. Secondly, as I'm sure you have heard; snipers have no bullet magnetism. Aim assistance is how well the reticle sticks to someone's head. The [u][b]ONLY[/b][/u] time a sniper benefits from aim assistance is while scope-dragging. While scope dragging the reticle will [u]slow down[/u] as you pass the persons head. This forgives players who don't have the timing down as it gives them a larger window. However, a skilled sniper will also benefit from this as scope-dragging takes a fair amount of skill. You probably went up against a really good sniper, which can frustrate you as snipers can kill instantly at all ranges. What you need to realize is snipers will be [u]extremely[/u] rewarding to a skilled hand.
