Gun nuts can make any excuses they want, at the end of the day guns were invented for one purpose: killing. Are they used for sport? Yes. But that is not their intended function. In a peaceful society literal killing machines should not exist, period.
Guns aren't about freedom or any of that. Yes it's a constitutional right - yada yada. Seriously what do you honestly think the odds are of the American government turning on its citizens and oppressing them with force? No one would allow that to happen. At that point even the most anti-gun liberal fags would be preaching freedom and firing machine guns into the sky.
No, guns are about self defense. I don't know why people think that humans are better than they really are. People are sick, -blam!-ed up, and evil creatures. Not everyone (obviously) but this world and our society are far from a utopian peace land where everyone smiles and farts rainbows. If you leave your child unattended for more than 30 minutes at a PUBLIC place - it isn't unlikely that someone will have either successfully abducted them or at least made an effort to.
Guns aren't THE problem, though they have a way of exasperating things. The sick -blam!-s on this earth would murder people with or without guns. However, since guns are accessible, one has to accept the fact that NO amount of precautions in screenings and background checks will ever be able to completely limit guns from falling into the hands of psychos. Not to mention it's easy as shit to buy a gun off of the darknet. And limiting all guns from being purchased legally? That's a great idea, lets make it harder for people to defend themselves agains criminals who will STILL BE ABLE TO EASILY PROCURE FIREARMS.
What is my point? Guns are not the problem, people are the -blam!-ing problem. Own a gun or don't own a gun - nothing wrong with that. But if/when the shit ever hits the fan, I know that I will at least be able to make an effort to defend myself and my family.
I do not approve of the misuse of firearms to commit crime/murder. Don't put words into my mouth if you wish to retort. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing we can do to put a stop to firearm misuse, sorry. The world and the people on it are -blam!-ed up.
I pick my gun up every day and stand in a field and aim it slightly downwards. I've never shot a bullet in my life but I look like Rick Grimes, so it's good enough for me.
People need to stop hanging onto "the right to bear arms", it was twenty years after the 2nd amendment was added that another amendment was made that upgraded black people to a lofty three fifths human!
:)
It's a toy for most people. They will tell you it's protection and a right to all free people and blah blah fucking blah.
But the reality of it is, that for most Americans it's an extension of their penis.
A gun is a normally tubular weapon or other device designed to discharge projectiles or other material.[1] The projectile may be solid, liquid, gas or energy and may be free, as with bullets and artillery shells, or captive as with Taser probes and whaling harpoons. The means of projection varies according to design but is usually effected by the action of gas pressure, either produced through the rapid combustion of a propellant or compressed and stored by mechanical means, operating on the projectile inside an open-ended tube in the fashion of a piston. The confined gas accelerates the movable projectile down the length of the tube, imparting sufficient velocity to sustain the projectile's travel once the action of the gas ceases at the end of the tube or muzzle. Alternatively, acceleration via electromagnetic field generation may be employed in which case the tube may be dispensed with and a guide rail substituted.
