There is a sigh.
Do you have any way of contacting Rose? Any idea where she'd be?

"No..." Silent tears begin to color her face again. They stopped during the interrogation; her mind was on other things than her problems. She really had no idea how to find her. Rose never wrote, never called; Veronica felt the sharp stab of betrayal in her heart once again. Her throat was sore from her sobbing. "I don't know if I'll even see her again... I don't know if I want to see her again..."

Within mere seconds, the blade of a massive Bowie knife, gleaming in the moonlight is pressed to her neck. She can feel the cold steel, sitting just atop her artery. The hand connected to the hilt is in some sort of combat hardsuit, and it is painted matte black. Before she can scream, the voice returns, just above her right ear, again, back to the calm tone. Don't scream. You'll slit your own throat. I will not hurt Rose. I will not hurt you. All I need is to have a little chat. Should she comply, it will not take more than five minutes.

Veronica didn't intend to be sassy, but she couldn't help the prideful smirk that blossomed like a wilting flower on her face. "Then I guess th-that knife of yours is just for show?" If he wasn't going to kill Rose because of what she knows, then he couldn't kill her. That was her proud logic.

Smart girl, aren't you.... You'd be amazed how much pain the body can take before you actually die... or at least before you slip into shock..... His other hand, which had been resting on the bench, grasped her shoulder, and squeezed. The sheer power was enough for him to dislocate her shoulder, and move it out of place and into a position of immense pain. Remember, don't scream.... Or pop goes your artery.....

Veronica winced and flailed her limbs, knowing to cry out would be to condemn herself. But she was still leverage. "Kill me andaaahh!... you don't find Rooose...!" It would take a lot to wipe the proud smirk off of her cheeks.

Oh sweetheart, I can find her without you..... I just like having bait, helps draw out your prey... Not to mention, you knowledge is valuable, even if I have to break every bone in your body to get it. He pops her shoulder back into place, and withdraws the knife, pommel-smashing her in the head with it just hard enough to knock her out.

Her body shut down physically. The blow tuned her out of her surroundings; her body fell limp against the wooden bench. She miscalculated her enemy: she wasn't the queen in his game of chess, she was just a pawn.
