Dose using a sniper require skill or not? Was curious b.c i just read that using a sniper requires no skill.
Also would like to hear the experiences of former players whom mained/used shotguns but then switched to snipers.
Let the poll speak for itself, we shall get the final answer from the players!
Also state why you think it is skilless.
1000ys-
it is in the same archtype as LDR, Y-Longbow, and HerBenvo. Aim assist is not as high as other snipers as meny guardians have mentiond below. So is it you that cant counter snipe, and the just blam it on the "1000ys's high aim assist? When apparently thats not the case?
Who here can own up to it? If you suck at sniping then just admit that you need practice. If your okay, then say your still learning. If your a good sniper just admit that the other guy got you b.c he was better, no? What's so hard about admitting the truth?
Im medicore at best. I am still learning. Back in TDB i was using my e-spear and played with all the snipers avaliable trying to learn how eavh type felt. Today im uaing the rr4 w/o litc and it's a hard sniper to get the feel for imo.

While I am guilty of using blink and shot package high impact shotgun I have also used her benevolence and other high aa snipers. I think both require a certain degree of skill. To those who say shotguns take no skill, you have to know when to engage and when to hold back. To those who say snipers take no skill, you have to learn to be patient and where to sit and when to run. It's all about timing no matter what load out you use to be honest. ^.^

I used to use a shotgun. Then I played trials for the first time and I was hooked. Literally the last three weeks of trials I switched from a shotgun to a sniper and completely changed my play style by the third and last week i went flawless multiple times and started carrying people. I was a sniping machine. Let me tell you at first my kd tanked then it started going up and now finally I'm 1.0 again still trying to get back up to 1.2. Sniping takes a lot more skill than shotguning and it's much more versatile than shotguning especially when paired with tlw

I use to main a shotgun (My swag Comedian) until Dark Below then I learnt that the LDR & Longbow could snipe off revive so I thought I'd learn how to use them. Now I'm always the one sniping in my Trials team.

6 通の返信I got noscoped by a level 16 with 840 grimoire in Salvage yesterday. It seems the skill required to snipe like a MLG pro levels off somewhere around 800 grimoire.

It takes skill. It was even more so amplified when you had the Ram on Sunsingers. Low impact/High stability snipers wouldn't one shot for the head. You had to either be quick firing or trade in the stablitity for impact, especially in trials.

4 通の返信It's takes balls to use a sniper. I have been using one since year one. It's taken a tole (don't think I speed that right) on my KD. But it's fun and something I love about the game. I say if you have done it since beta let it be. But if you only started with 1000 yard stare your a noob

5 通の返信It's getting so easy that you can barely see skill in some people, not even mentioning the luck in the chamber RR4. They also removed shot package off shotguns and nerfed all shotguns which forces good players to use sniper rifles instead of shutguns to perform better. The only shotguns that are usefull right now is Invective and Conspiracy Theory-D.

6 通の返信one small question to those people.... what will you choose? -your pride (low aim assist) -the kill (good aim assist) and how long you think you can stick to the first one? I am not a good sniper (comparing my self to some others that i have encountered) sniper takes skills (positioning and analyzing movements) on top of aiming. shotguns take skills (positioning and analyzing movements) minus the aiming :) playing pvp takes skills (positioning and analyzing movements), cursing people when you die and figuring what you did wrong that led to your death good luck to all of us
