After having sprinted through the questline (which was absolutely awesome, with just the right difficulty that it was possible to do with a few friends and not having to look up any codes, please more of this, Bungie, that was BRILLIANT), I now have had some time to test out how the Simulant sleeper works on patrol.
It's a Spartan Laser. For any fan of Halo, I mean this in the best of possible ways, believe me.
You have one incredibly powerful beam, with a significant charge-up time, but unlike normal fusion rifles, these shots do absolutely not care whether or not it hits an enemy. It continues with the equal amount of rage and cuts through ANYONE.
I've yet to find a limit on enemy bodies it can penetrate, as the highest number of enemies I've gotten lined up in patrol mode is 4.
Ironically, Sleeper Simulant may be the most devestating weapon to clear "The First Firewall" with. I wonder if it's possible to wipe every straight wave of knights with it, due to the overpenetration.
To me, it basically feels like a long-range, pinpoint precise, massively overpenetrating fusion rifle that will clear ANY hallway of dangers.
Has anyone found an upper limit on penetrating targets, or found out how much damage it can do to a boss?

1 返信It actually does do a shit load of damage, its not like the gjally, it wont do all the work for you but its still a really good gun. I mean we all know we will never see anything like the gjally again, people need to come to terms with that.

I find it hard to believe you deciphered the codes without looking them up. There was nothing logical about the knights being the key. But if you did some how manage to pull it off, my hat is off to you and your crew as that was a true challenge. As for your post. I have used the Weapon in 4 different Heroic strikes this morning before work and I couldn't get a multi kill to save my life. I ended up making the decision to run my Exo Sword until the boss then switch and lazer beam whatever boss I was up against. I also ran the SS on Earth patrol attempting to kill more than one of the yellow Hive guys in the subway with one shot but I couldn't get the beam to bounce into any of the other two. I tried 7 times and gave up. This weapon is situational at best and in most situations there will be a better exotic option. Who knows, maybe hard raid will require these things to stagger Oryx? Still going to infuse it to see if it puts out more pop during the raid tonight.

7 通の返信It's not bad. Feel like it will only be pulled out for certain situations though. I think why everyone else is a little upset with it is cause it only carries 7 shots lol. Of course everyone is saying cause it was easy to get, but honestly I feel the ammo capacity did it in. Cause I took that out in patrol, popped a heavy ammo synth and just after a few seconds of blasting hive and cabal to bits.. The fun was over... Cause I used all the ammo...and none of the dudes dropped heavy, and of course I had to wait 5 minutes to pop another synth. Tried it in pvp though. Not recommended lol. But I did manage to one shot a sunbreaker at full health so there you go. Dope weapon but probably won't be using it over my touch of malice, tlaloc, or my jade Rabbit.
