1. Add a cooldown, it's as simple as that. Or -
2. Limit the type of bosses exotics can drop from; let only higher leveled strike bosses have a chance to drop exotics.
3. Make them more expensive.
Bungie has openly said the drop rate is too damn high. After all, it's about the journey, not the destination. I agree with Bungie when they say you should have a story behind every exotic.
I still think TTK is wonderful, they've done such good work with this. Faith restored Bungie!
Edit: I guess they're patching this, or have already. I tried it out and only got 2 exotics from like 20 coins.
Also, people were confused as to why I care what other people do with the game, so let me elaborate. Destiny is a social game, a social experience. Other people matter; we have larger group raid activities, Crucible, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris... All of these are activities where you interact with other players, and your experience in these activities changes based on who those players are, and what those players are using. A vast majority of people who didn't use this exploit will be left in the dust as this DLC moves forward, with Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, Raids, etc.

I think it's a great idea. Gives an incentive to keep running strikes for the items you want. The farming method was an oversight by Bungie and they've basically said "enjoy it while it lasts". It would suck if they nerf the item rather than changing it to strikes/raids only. If people want to farm, let them. Their rush to get all the content shouldn't be any concern of yours. Hell I've used it myself and found my new wife, Jade. It gave me the boost I needed to continue my journey. I agree it's the journey, not the destination. But when the destination is offered to you on a plate, you can get a mighty hunger.

8 通の返信Do we know what the average drop rate is? One guy below said he used 50 and got 6 exotic engrams. At seven coins a copy each exotic wound up costing him 58 strange coins. Umm, I think I can wait for RNG and Xur if that number is close to the average.

1 返信It was an oversight on Bungles part. I do not feel bad running low level missions to get exotics. I used the coins as sold and had fun. After all the bad programing and server issues that have plagued the Raids and Skolas since launch. How long did bungie take to fix these issues for the players. I also think the lists and YouTube channels of all the calcified fragments and secrets locations of things ie. ghosts in the game ruin it more. But no one complains about these they actually thank the posters for telling them were they are. The only difference is it benefits them personally. Just play your game and stop worrying how other people play theirs.

1 返信I hated the idea...then I got curious and greedy and tried the scourge of winter mission glitch. I got The Stag, the Jade Rabbit, yr 2 Helm of Inmost light, yr 2 crest of alpha lupei.....I'm glad I have them but I feel like I cheated. So glad it's getting patched. Knowing that I got these from a lvl 14 yr1 mission is funny tho.

i don't think it was a bad idea necessarily, i just think they went about it the wrong way. If the three of coins only worked in strike playlists, then people wouldn't be able to cheese and get the engrams. I didn't cheese with them, and i ran about 5 strikes in 1-2 hours and got one exotic engram. I don't think there is a problem with that. I also think that they should have either been a higher cost, or only given one coin upon purchase. Regardless, what other people have and have gotten doesn't really concern me. If they cheesed to get all the exotics, thats fine, i just don't want to hear them complaining in a month that there is no content in this expansion, you know?

7 通の返信Someone sounds salty they didn't have many coins to spend. Its not an exploit it was a resource provided in the game. Its not a glitch it works exactly like it says its supposed to. Damn right we took advantage. This was more for the year one players anyways as new players don't have the coinage. And you are damn right we year ones deserved something like this. All the grind we went through became completely obsolete. The reason it all became obsolete was for them to cater to the new players on board. We stacked coins for a year. We earned the right to purchase whatever xur sold. Get over it

6 通の返信GANTZにより編集済み: 9/21/2015 2:49:37 PMi spent all my 280 year1 leftover strange coins and got so many exotics i started to use them to infuse legendary gear lol

All they need to do is put a 5 minute timer on it once used up - just other synth. (i.e. it remains buffed & ready to go, disappears after fighting ultra, then buff timer starts) People farming would still be there, but it would REALLY a grind.

2 通の返信This is no different than xur really, spending coins on exotics but know there's RNG in the mix. I've done the farming and I can confirm that in 100 i got 8 exotics.
poping one at a time b4 the kill
I think it's quite fair because it was 140 coins and I got 8 exotics that goes out to 18 per exotic about the same if I were to wait to actually xurned it.
But hey I'm one of those people that thinks xur shouldn't have been in the game in the first place.
2 通の返信I "farmed" exotics using the cheese and got 2 in about 10 three of coins uses. Didn't want to use the cheese anymore so I just made sure I had a coin equipped whenever taking on an "Ultra". I have had 0 exotics dropped in about 25 coins used. WTF? Bungie are you forcing us to cheese for exotics?

1 返信It's better on paper than in practice. It just needs some limits to its uses, maybe strikes and raids only.
