There are simply not enough ways to earn them, which means the entire end game is going to go back to the exact same idea you were supposedly steering away from.
Let me explain. Previously the level cap was 20, and you needed armor to hit the different light level caps 30, 32, and 34. We ended up running the same stuff week in and week out, praying to RNGesus that the piece of gear that would allow you to reach max level would drop. Hundreds of people were locked out of top tier endgame content because of RNG.
Now the endgame content is locked to your light value, thereby requiring you to once again pray to RNGesus to drop that one piece of armor, or weapon now, that ups your light value, so you can do content to earn Legendary Marks. Then, after weeks of grinding, you can rebuy previous equipment, or new, to attempt to up your light level slightly. Not only that, Legendary Marks are spread across all characters for some reason. So, if you have 3 characters of different classes, as I do now, it is even longer to level up each character's gear.
Do you see where I'm going with this? It is literally the exact same issue that we had before, only worse. The endgame is still highly restrictive to the gear that drops.
Everything takes marks, infusions, year 2 exotics, and new gear. Yet, there are only a handful of ways to gain marks, one of which requires you to have gotten the gear you need to run it. Others require PVP to gain marks. I don't enjoy the PVP in this game at all, so no marks for me there either.
You previously allowed us to gain marks independant to each character, from a variety of ways. The different ways were Crucible playlists, strike playlists, patrol missions, and the daily and weekly PVE content.
This new economy needs a major retooling, it is broken beyond belief, and it is extremely restrictive. What I am hoping you will take away from this is to allow us to have independant mark pools per character, and more ways to earn them.
Thank you for reading this.
Update #1: Another issue that I had discovered last night was with the new artifacts. Now, when you decrypt your legendary engrams for armor, there's a chance it will turn into an artifact instead of useful armor. I had this happen yesterday. I picked up a legendary gauntlet engram that I needed, and when it decrypted, it turned into an artifact. It just seems silly to work this way as a helmet cannot turn into a chest piece. It would make more sense to allow a class item engram to turn into either a class item or artifact, and others into their respective gear.
Update #2: To those talking of the grind, and how Year 1 used to be. Yes, you did need to grind before, I'm not saying that at all. Year 1 had a very clear-cut way of handling marks. You capped at 100 for a week in each respective field, and had to grind and save up for purchases. This meant within 2 weeks, you could save and buy 1 new piece of gear, whether it be a weapon or armor. Now, the claim is that there is no weekly cap, but they've drastically reduced the means to acquire marks from all PVE and PVP sources. Instead of having options, now there are very few ways to earn them. And not only that, they are used for more things now, not just as a vendor currency. They are used for every infusion, vendor purchases, and rebuilding exotics into Year 2 versions.
Update #3: After having quite a bit of time with TTK over the last few days, I was finally able to reach 252 light. I am still very starved for makes, even after finally being able to do the heroic weekly. I believe when I logged off last night I had 12 marks left. I did have a few legendaries drop, but only one turned into something useful. So I received 6 marks from breaking down the useless legendaries. I had to spend some to infuse higher damage blues onto the purples with decent abilities that I wanted. So, still sticking with the same thought of "there are not enough ways to earn marks compared to the increased uses for marks".

4 通の返信Nah I did the math. So you get 15 a day from the daily chapter and crucible playlist that's 30 in 1 day. Now how many days are in a week, 7 so 7x30= 210 and add the weekly which you can do 3 times per accounts NOT CHARACTERS. You would get 30 if you do them all. Now add that 30 to 210 which is 240. So you could earn a minimum of 240 in a week IF YOU DO EVERYTHING though. Then you can get more from trashing legendary things

In my opinion a lot of what is wrong with TTK is stuff that they "fixed" and screwed up even worse than before. Marks have always been a sore spot for me from when they removed the Mat. to Mark trades we could do. It has only gotten worse.

2 通の返信I don't agree at all. Yes I've played a lot of Destiny since TTK drop, but I've easily gained 300 marks. Use motes to enhance low light legendary gear and sell them for 5 marks a piece, it's really not that difficult

2 通の返信With the infuse component now added in the game, RNG is not as much of a headache as before. Granted, Legendary marks are tough to come by but you get them from dismantling low level legendaries, daily heroics, heroic playlist and crucible playlist. Pretty much the same as year one. So it's not entirely flawed

Somewhat true but legendary drops and high atk blue drops are much more common I'm rocking full legendary armor from just an evening or two of play haven't even been doin strikes I'm think we really don't need vendor gear this go round may just use marks for infusing

13 通の返信Just more Bungie bullshit to artificially pad playtime due to lack of meaningful content.

RNG is way better. I had full blue gear by 10 hours of playing through story and crucible and I was able to do the daily heroic, which is worth 15 marks. Couple that with the daily crucible which is another 15. And countless quests offer 20+ marks, plus the weekly heroic with 10 marks, and dismantling unwanted purple gear is 3 marks. So each day, minimum you can earn is 30. That's 210 per week. Stop whining. Only thing I may want them to add is 1-2 marks per crucible match, but I can't complain. I had 75 the other day and spent them all, and now I have 62. I would Be at 130 now in 3 days. Not too shabby. You're just a baby.

1 返信I see your reason But the whole reason why they are the way the are right now is to avoid fast leveling They want the game to last. They want content to last

10 通の返信SunlightHeartにより編集済み: 9/18/2015 5:15:45 AMYou'd have a point... if legendaries didn't break down into legendary marks. You can get plenty of marks.

Louise Belcherにより編集済み: 9/18/2015 12:26:04 PMerm. it's not that hard nor is it ridiculously time consuming. you just have to be smart about it. light level 290 in 3 days. i spent 80 on a pair of boots on day 1 and 30 or so more on infusions and still have 120 on me. daily pve and pvp, weekly (x3), nightfall, quests, plus random cruddy legendaries blown up = profit.

1 返信Lmao. They have no content so they add grind. Try to sell you their content saying there will be LESS grind. Contradiction??? -blam!- Bungihole.

22 通の返信Welcome to MMOs. Do you want have to do something? Or do you want to hit maxed out stats day one and then you don't know what to do? What do people expect? It's the nature of RPG, if you ever played Diablo, Borderlands or WoW you should know.

3 通の返信Still agreed. PvP players have gotten an even worse situation, than PvE players though. It's basically impossible to earn any meaningful amount of marks through playing the PvP. Thx Bungie!
