I was in in year 6 in primary school. The teachers came running in to turn on the TV. I didn't really understand the severity of what I was seeing at the time.
I find it quite funny how the community is split almost perfectly in half by the <13's spamming un-funny edgy jokes about terrorism and the >13's telling actual stories of what they remember. My guess is that just because they weren't there to remember it, they don't understand what it was like so they can make fun of it.

I was in 5th grade. It was my Language arts class. At the time we had recess but I did not go because I was in trouble ( forgot why). So I was the only one in class with my teacher. Then my home room teach comes rushing in and turns on the T.V. I was one of the first students to see it live. They explained to me what happen while it was happening. I still remember her running in class panicking, I remember the set up of the class and where I was sitting. That day is a day that will always be etched in my mind. I can still vividly remember that day. 5th grade me did not know the magnitude at the time. But later that day when I got home and had tv access it all sunk in.

2 通の返信I was in 8th grade. I remember wondering why they turned off all the t.v.'s and why so many parents were picking up their kids. I remeber going home and seeing the video. I felt angry, sad, and slightly confused. If I had been old enough I would have enlisted in the military that very day.

2 通の返信Not giving 2 -blam!-s because I was 5 and had no idea it even happened that and it's not my country..I mean it was still pretty damn sad but I honestly feel more sorrow for every innocent civilian killed in the middle east because of the U.S.

I can barely remember what I did last week never mind 14 years ago. I know I was in a pub when it came on the news. I know the barmaid turned the news off so we could put the jukebox on. I've got no idea what town we were in though. I was on leave after a 6 month UN tour. All I cared about was beer and decent bloody food ... which is what I wanted after pretty much every tour. It might seem shocking and disrespectful but most of the world carried on as normal.

I had a fever so I was waiting at the health clinic with my mom when someone rushed to switch the channel and everyone was in shock at what they were witnessing. I was only 7 so I didn't quite understand fully what was happening. I remember some nurses crying as well as others.
