The Lords of Iron and the Iron Banner

We all are likely familiar with the Iron Banner. The section of the Crucible that has no handicaps and no fair play, just merciless bloody battlefields where only the strong survive. However, I would say a few do not know who or what they honor when competing under the Iron Banner. The Lords of Iron's existence is known through the weapons and class items that honor them as their namesake. But information about the Lords themselves and this new group called the Iron Wolves is something left unexplored by most. For this reason I am going to elaborate on their lore a little bit and hopefully aid some in their understanding. As I mentioned the Iron Banner was formed to honor the legendary Lords of Iron and their actions in the infancy of the City Age during the Six Fronts and the building of the Second Wall.
The Lords of Iron, ancient warriors from the City’s founding, have no time for mollycoddling. The City remembers Felwinter and Jolder, Skorri and Timur, Radegast and Gheleon and the others, for their invincible patrols during Six Fronts and the Wall-building. The Iron Banner asks Guardians to live up to that legend.

The Iron Banner seeks great champions to lead the fight against the Darkness. It was born to honor the Iron Lords and their efforts in the earliest days of the City.

"Those who find victory in the Crucible will win salvation for our City." - Iron Banner maxim
So to understand the Iron Banner you must understand those it honors. To start let's go over what we know about each of the Lords of Iron themselves. Radagast: A Titan and Commander in the Firebreak Order at the Battle of Six Fronts, He and Silimar, another Commander of the Firebreak Order, led a legendary mission to reclaim territory lost to the Fallen. He, Silimar, and their fellow Titans fought hard for every inch of battlefield they gained and were successful for a time but eventually they were called to give their last in a final stand. They may have fell but when the dust settled the City had gained 5 miles of territory and the Fallen were in shambles. For this they are remembered and honored. Radagast also had a sword that was believed to give the Iron Banner nigh invincibility. So long as it's blade was whole the Iron Banner could not fall.
Radagast's Blade - So long as this sword was whole, the Iron Banner could not be broken.
However, when he fell this marked a time of despair for the Iron Banner and the City as a whole. The loss of a great leader and legendary warrior is not something that goes without a great affect on the whole. Silimar: As mentioned above, he was a Titan and Commander in the Firebreak Order. He led with Radagast on the fateful 5 Miles, giving his life so that the City could have one more piece of the victory they had to have to survive. Jolder: Little is known of Jolder beyond that he was a Titan who likely fought alongside Felwinter during the Battle of the Six Fronts. Felwinter: Felwinter was a Warlock who likely fought alongside Jolder during the Six Fronts. Timur: A Warlock who likely fought alongside Skorri during the Battle of the Six Fronts. Skorri: She was a Warlock who likely fought alongside Timur at the Six Fronts. She is sometimes not counted among the Lords of Iron but she sings of the deeds of her fallen comrades.
Skorri's Dirge - They say she's apart from the Iron Banner, yet she sings songs of her lost companions.
She is one of the Lord of Iron that we believe is still alive today. Efrideet: She was a Hunter who fought during the Battle of the Six Fronts as a scout sniper. She was known for her uncanny accuracy.
Efrideet's Eye - Every time she pulled the trigger, an enemy of the City died.
Gheleon: Was a Hunter who fought at the Battle of the Six Fronts. He also has some connection to another Titan of the Iron Banner who seems to have gone rogue named Segoth.
Segoth's Head - "Thought we formed the Banner to fight the Darkness, not ourselves. Just don't bode well, s'all I'm sayin'." —Gheleon
This leads me to a bit of speculation. It seems that whoever Segoth was he was hunted down and killed by the Iron Lords themselves. It is possible that he broke orders or even became a traitor during the events of the Six Fronts or the building of the second Wall. However, information on this is mostly unknown so I will leave it at that. Perun: Was a Hunter who fought at the Battle of the Six Fronts. These are the known Iron Lords that founded the Iron Banner. They became one of the greatest threats to the Darkness that the City had ever mustered. Their legend will live on through their surviving members and those who honor their fallen. More on the Iron Wolves coming soon! Hopefully this was helpful and enlightening in some way! Thanks! MattConrad Expert Titan Historian and Member of the Collective of Knowledge
