**This is a reply to a question someone asked earlier, I'm going to put it here for any who don't know, please spread this information for all those awesome collectors out there!** There's three ([i]I've personally confirmed two[/i]) ways to do this currently, however we don't know how TTK will change things, so start grinding now if you genuinely want a vanilla piece that badly. [u][b]Method 1: Grind tiger strikes and below.[/b][/u] -Only the engrams you get at the end of the strikes can be decoded into vanilla gear, and it's very rare you'll get a legendary engram at the end, but it is possible from what I know. -Basically, decode all the blue engrams you get from the strike reward screens. -Blue engrams with possible vanilla gear will [b]NOT[/b] say "remarkable potency" in their description. -This method does not have any chance of netting you vanilla legendary [b]Weapons[/b] due to the fact that the reward screen will not provide blue weapon engrams, only blue armor engrams. [u][b]Method 2: Rank up Vanguard and Crucibl[/b]e[/u] -This is STRICTLY FOR CLASS ITEMS -When you open a Vangaurd/Crucible package, there is currently a chance to get old class items -This does not have any chance of netting you anything besides [b]Class Items[/b] [u][b]Method 3: Grind for Patrol Chests[/b][/u] -[b][i]I have not confirmed this to work. INFO MAY BE FALSE.[/i][/b] -This works like the Tiger (and below) Strikes in a way -Specifically hunt for blue engrams from these chests, anything else can be trashed -You want to open chests as quickly as possible to raise you're chances of this working considering each engram will have a low chance of turning legendary, [b][i]I recommend looking up old farming paths for materials+chests if you weren't a vanilla player and don't know about how this works[/i][/b] -Decrypt the blue engrams at the cryptarch and pray to RNGesus. [b][u]IMPORTANT:[/u][/b] [i]I stated this before, but I will say it again: [b]BLUE ENGRAMS (DECOHERENT) WITH "REMARKABLE POTENCY" IN THE ITEM DESCRIPTION WILL NOT DECODE INTO VANILLA GEAR NO MATTER WHAT.[/b][/i] Meaning if you need to delete something for space, it should be those.
