Nightfall is now exclusive to ttk purchasers.
If you read the update today, Deej mentioned that you will have to defeat Oryx to access the nightfall.
Assuming this means you have to beat the story missions, if you don't buy TTK you can't do those missions and now an endgame activity is being taken from you. Lol, taken.
I already pre-ordered so this won't affect me, but I can't help thinking this is kinda fkd up.
It's one thing to lock people out if they don't have the dlc for the strike being used for the nightfall on any particular week, but to completely remove this endgame activity from anyone who doesn't buy TTK seems a bit much.
Any thoughts guardians?
Edit: here is the exact quote from the update, right after it talks about the nightfall:
[quote] Did we mention that you’ll need to confront the immediate threat first? Oryx lies between you and these challenges. You'll need to survive his wrath to partake in the new endgame. [/quote]

It's official. If you want to reach level 40, you must have TTK. You also must be level 40 to run the nightfall. Nightfall is now officially 100% exclusive to TTK owners.

47 通の返信Bungie has been slowly locking players out of vanilla content since first dlc. They force players into buying dlc. This is nothing new. Crappy business tactics IMO.

what? same thing happened with TDB and with HoW no DLC = no nightfall or weekly for you, if that week they are DLC strikes that's what that means if you have TTK, in order to do Nightfall you will have to "face Oryx", which probably just means beat the main story

6 通の返信Yeah and Omnigul is a Dark Below exclusive and Taniks is a House of Wolves exclusive. Your point is?... Nightfalls are different each week so it's not like every week the NF will be a Taken King exclusive strike.

5 通の返信The quote says, "You'll need to survive his wrath to partake in the [b][i][u]new[/u][/i][/b] endgame." That means you can't play the [b][i][u]new[/u][/i][/b] strike or raid until you beat the story mode. It doesn't say anything about not being able to do any nightfalls
