Edit: Cosmo Responded in another post!
Thanks for the feedback. As you may have seen by all of the topics that continue to trend, everyone has really strong attachments to their Year One gear. I will continue to point devs to all of the player feedback about wanting to bring their Year 1 gear along for Year 2.
Edit: Bungie is hoping we quiet down. We need to get loud about this! Blow up @deej_bng on Twitter.

“The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.”
Edit: Sharing a nice post.

Fan here. I agree with a lot of people. They've really lied... Or well didn't lie, they took it back with the excuse that this time it's different. Which sadly isn't how it works, I'm not allowed to do that so why should they? Well because they can.
The changes don't upset me. What upsets me is them not keeping their word without apology. There's proof literally all over the forums (and I like Bungie a lot) but even when your best friend is wrong, they're still wrong.
I'm not upset some of the exotics are going away, I'm just upset that they're acting like everything is okay. When it's not. I'm not offended at all but an apology would make me feel better about it.

Bungie,
As a year one player I have had a great time overall. I understand your reasoning for doing this for year 2 is to give "newbs" a fighting chance with new weapons. Having year one start from scratch on weapon collecting is wrong. We all have worked hard to "Become Legend" but now with year 2 we are now ordinary again. Some exotics transfer over but with different perks. That in itself is crazy. Ghorn and Vex as well as others are left behind is just mean. Thanks for the Vault space to hold all our now obsolete guns. What we have seen with exotics per dlc is that they are pretty much useless. You should seriously reconsider the year one guns and armor. You design but we play. You're testing does not amount to the time we all put into this. Instead of talking amongst yourselves you should really use this community form and hear what we are saying. WE WANT OUR GUNS, period.
Since Bungie only responds to technical issues and hardly to posts like these. I challenge Bungie to give a response to this and if these new weapons are trash that we are forced to use, then bring back our exotics for year 2.
Edit: We need the whole community on board with this. Share to as many people as possible.
Thanks for your comments and support. We all need to rally behind keeping our hard work worthwhile.
Edit: I even forgot to add all the POE gear we worked for as well as Trials of "Thorn" I mean Osiris.
My Skolas exotic weapons are trophies of a dying age? We just got this dlc. How is this obsolete? Should we stop playing now? Nothing we do now translates over to the Taken King.
Edit: A shader, sparrow, and emblem is not a reward for obsolete guns I had to grind for. A reward for year one Guardians is to be able to ascend their old weapons. That is a reward for loyalty.
I guess that's all for now.
Edit: Bungie, We are year one. We helped you get this game where it is now. Don't abandon your greatest ally. You said our weapons would follow us and now the year one community is left behind. Guardians band together while the DEV Gods lay down a curse. Year One has spoken!
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback. Year One community has been great. We all made this game great. I had fun. I will buy The Taken King but I do want our guns and equipment to follow as promised. Give me a reason to trade my Ghorn for something better. Create great, don't Dregs Promise me.
Thank you all for your posts and comments. Hopefully this reaches high enough. Keep the thread alive.
I had "Become Legend". I have now "Become Ordinary".
Edit: Look up Bungie Weekly Update from 12/04/2014 The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. -DEEJ
Edit: Thanks for all the comments and posts! Good or bad or even ones I don't agree with. This is why I like this community and why I am dedicated to this game. It may be dumb but this is my hobby. I have a wife and 3 kids. I'm passionate about my hobby. Some people have WoW I have Destiny.
Edit: Day one of this fight! Let's keep up the fight. Day after day till we are heard!
Edit: Day 2: Over 500 comments! Keep up the fight guardians! We've reached the end of the weekend.
1 post might have it right. That this expansion won't allow it and sales well be down. So the next expansion will guarantee year one exotics to be ascended. I guys we will have to see.
End of day 2: almost 600 comments! Keep it up. It will be hard for Bungie to remain quiet if we reach 1000.
Almost 700 and growing!
Edit: End of day 3. Posts are starting to die down. Thanks to all who keep the bump alive and to all who have shared good or bad. Hopefully this game goes longer than 2 years.
Everyone is starting to finally talk about this. Many posts on YouTube. The community is genuinely upset.
Since some of the new exotics are scout rifles I can't wait! I think Mida Multi tool is great. #not
I Love beating my controller too death to fire 6 rounds at someone within 10 seconds #fingerblister.
Don't let year 2 be the final year. Bungie, you should act now before it's too late!
Use this hashtag and be heard!

Hopefully as time draws closer we'll get answers. Good luck guardians!
Another fellow guardians post. Bump it up! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/148964780/0/0

This post has been up for about a week. Thanks for all your feedback and support.
Only time will tell if we get our gear back.

Over 900 comments! Keep it up!

Edit: Wow! Thanks for all the support. Coming to this year's end and is been a fun ride. However this weapon balance patch that we've waited for, for so long turned out to be a total bust. SRL was a blast. I'd rather have that then crucible right now. SRL is the only thing that's balanced!
Happy New Year Guardians. Hopefully 2016 will be destined for Legend!
New edit: Thought I'd share this from another post.

Keep this post alive and hopefully infusion for all.
See you out there.
Mint-Frost PS4
Edit: REPLAYABILITY, does this mean old stuff might be coming forward? Fingers crossed!
NEW EDIT: So... Everyone gets a Gally now? I'm worried. Oh well, I guess it will be a nice collectors piece. Hope it's still exotic.

Edit: I can't believe this has been going on for a year now. Thanks for all the feedback. Some weapons have come through but not all. Maybe get some exciting news today, Bungie Day!

6 通の返信Dude, isn't it obvious? Bungie are "taking away all the nice toys", so in a future update (probably when all the DLCs are released), they'll let you have it all back again. And the funny irony? The player base will hail this benevolent act of altruism as "Bungie is sooooo amazing for listening to their fans", which will (in many of the naive players' eyes) make up for the shitty business practices and other B.S that they pull. You heard it here, first.

4 通の返信Lets also point out how much year one players have been ripped off with purchasing content. As a year one player you have probably spent about $135-$140 for the original game and all three expansions (of course depending on season pass vs. separate expansions and whatever route you took with purchasing TTK). Now new players can spend $60 for all of what we payed $135-$140 for. Not to mention that buying a legendary edition with both physical bonus items and bonus in-game content will only cost new players $80, which is still cheaper than what year one players have forked over. Now let's look at just what we have spent on TTK as year one players. $40 just for this one expansion (note that the others, while delivering slightly less content, have only costed $20) and an additional $20 of players want to upgrade to a legendary edition, if you will, that includes the exotic class items and emotes. As a year one player we get 'exclusive' items. Those being a shader, sparrow, and emblem. Yay *sarcasm*. Now just as a personal OPINION the year one players should be getting the exotic class items and emotes for our loyalty as well, especially since we were basically ripped off on previous expansions. If year one players want to get everything that new players get, we are looking at roughly $155-$160. Meanwhile new players will only be spending $80. The shader, sparrow, and emblem are the only exclusive things that year one players will receive. So those three things make up for the $75-$80 difference? No way! So why are we being charged for emotes and exotic class items? Year one players should NOT be charged the price of an expansion for exotic class items and emotes! Especially when those same expansions are being given to new players basically for free. Bungee likes to make it look like they're doing all of these things for year one players when in reality they are ripping us off. All of the money that we spent on destiny is being given to new players. This is just my personal opinion, call me cry baby if you like, I personally couldn't care less. I just wanted to point out how us 'loyal guardians' are metaphorically being danced on after feeling the crucible's wrath.

2 通の返信Sorry but I completely disagree. I've got over 3 months of game time on destiny and I couldn't be happier about what they are doing. Can you imagine if CoD didn't give you new guns?!? But that said I respect your point of view and best of luck with your campaign.

I've looked through the ttk armory. I saw a lot that I am really excited about and can't wait to get my hands on. I do not however, believe that bungie made the right choice in forcing our hands in choosing what gear we use. I love this game and will play no matter what, just give us the chance to find out what gear is best on our own.
-
I agree completely. I haven't really played this last week as I see all of my weapons are about to get left behind. Maybe I'm just a spoiled console gamer? I find the whole situation to be very depressing as a gamer. I've just been plugging away on Diablo. I came back after a year. Know what? More content! And my old stuff is still just as good, but they added new stuff that's better and a higher difficulty of up to Torment 10! In other words: BUMP!
