Honest question. If all current raid guns and armor are completely obsolete, and the materials are as well, and I assume they will probably only drop yr1 exotics, why do them? You could say for fun, but that will only carry so far. You could say to have satisfaction of doing it. Well, that would work once.. But if there is nothing that is any good to get, will you spend any time there? And what about this new content? Will it really contain enough new weapons and armor and things to do to keep us from missing old raid runs? One raid that is relevant. Will anyone check on Variks anymore? Will people give a crap about Queens bounties? Is the entire yr1 endgame content just gonna be a ghostown? Then why not just make this Destiny 2 since we are basically not gonna be doing any of the stuff we do today (raid/ poe) once it drops. Why? Because its not enough content for a full game.. Anyways, just curious what you think. You do Crota and Atheon just for giggles? Edit: Fun is fun. Yes they will still be fun. I meant on a level of having some benefit to our guardian beyond grimoire or mats.
