Why are these forums so against having options?
Whether it's optional matchmaking..
Or the option to ascend year 1 gear...
If random solo players want to be matched with other random solo players for endgame content, who does that hurt other than those players?
If I want to run ten years with a Lord High Fixer, who does that affect but me?
Seems like everyone hates options on here.
Optional matchmaking means you could CHOOSE not to use it.
Ascending a year one weapon or armor, would always be a CHOICE.
I'm confused... Help straighten me out.
Edit: those of you who will ask me "two warlocks?"
I started this game on 360. I moved to ps4 around October. My hunter will be made for ttk. Plan to play the game from the beginning.
Same screen name as above for psn and Xbox for all you destiny trackers.

Mostly because scrubs post the same topic over and over like matchmaking that horse is so dead that the glue from the horse has dried up and blown away So any subsequent post is just a whine and deserves to be beaten down before it obtains a new life

2 通の返信Honestly I think the biggest issue with endgame matchmaking is the contract with Activision and the Teen rating. Halo had a VERY bad reputation for multiplayer. I think Activision, Bungie or both were scared shitless Destiny would end up the same. Hence a game that released with virtually no ways to interact socially in a shared online world. Basically it's letting a very small % of gamers (raging, racist, foul mouthed trolls) to dictate how everyone are able to play. But it's far easier to just exclude everyone than to try to build tools to remove those players. As far as the forums and the people who are radically against optional mm or gear accession, in general they tend to be the same 10% that everyone is so afraid we'll run into in OMM in the first place.

17 通の返信Truth. But not everyone on the forums are actually against these things. In fact, when you compare those that are actually posting, the majority of players on here are actually in favor of these things. There is a group of trolls though that make it a point to pile into any post that is pushing for these things. The bottom line is that its always the same thing. Anyone who disagrees with these never has a good enough reason "why" it would be a bad thing. Its literally as you said, all it does is offer players a choice. There is seriously no justification for them NOT to accept it, it doesn't have any negative impacts at all. And Bungie's response to it is simply just "well we think" which is exactly what others say as well. The trolls and those who just simply don't give two shits just repeat what Bungie says. But here's the thing though. Bungie shouldn't be assuming their opinion to be absolute. Bungie: "We don't think there should be Optional Matchmaking for endgame content." Community: "Why not?" Bungie: *Silence* Community: "Not even going to defend your reasoning?" Bungie: *Silence* Community: "What the -blam!- guys..." *Canceling Pre-Orders left and right* Or~ Bungie: "We know some of our players are ready to play with some new toys." Community: "Some isn't everyone... Many of us actually want to keep ascending our old weapons and keep using them." Bungie: "We think it would be boring to have a 10 year relationship with a weapon." Community: "Again, that is still you talking about yourselves. You don't speak for everyone... Can you please acknowledge us?" Bungie: *TTK Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype. Ignores the matter altogether* Community: "REALLY!?" *Sells Destiny and buys something else*

1 返信For OPTIONAL Matchmaking I got nothing to say. It should be available. It hurts No-one. For ascending Year 1 Weapons I really believe is better not to. 'Cause usually when you have something so good and powerfull you won't want to replace it with the new gear. And not wanting to pursue new gear takes a lot of excitement out of the game. Thats a fact. People say: Well, if they made new gear way better than what I already have.. I would replace it! - But if what you have is already so good and powerfull, making something even better would become essentially OP. And having OP guns available for every mode eventually becomes boring. Ex: Fatebringer is a ton of good. But it ain't OP. I could use other primaries. Gjallarhorn is OP. I have no reason to use other heavies (hence other Exotics either) Is good to have powerfull weapons. Something we all crave to get. But not OP weapons that narrow down my decisions to only use that.

Seriously? I would guess that it is a breadth of experience issue. Once you've played a lot of games and a broad spectrum of games you become more aware of how your entertainment can be made more flexible and enjoyable. At the risk of sounding age-ist it is also my experience that younger people can tend to be more tribal and peer-driven so disagreements about theory become emotive, personal and us vs them.

6 通の返信You discussed two major issues - matchmaking and weapon ascension. Weapon ascension only effect the individual pve player. The pvp player has a different problem. Snipers with final round that you cannot get anymore could cause game imbalance. Pve players like the imbalance no one gets upset at the kill leader in a raid. Matchmaking effects the pve players tremendously. We have all had bad strike and now weekly experiences. Players running ahead and suiciding to advance the strike. Lack of mics. Lack of coordination. Afk players. Annoying or offensive played. All of these things would make raiding matchmaking bad. If they added filters maybe it could work. Such as level, grimoire, and mic preference. But then what to do when a players had to leave the raid? How would you get a friend in?

3 通の返信SKILES85により編集済み: 8/13/2015 10:20:59 AMI like the way some of my fav raid guns shoot. I don't want to replace my fang with a fast shooting lower impact scout. I don't want to give up my cool looking word of Crota for a super weak Skolas void pulse rifle. None of that means I won't be going for the new weapons in TTK. Every destiny player is always looking forward to the new stuff. But we would like to decide what we like better. Destiny could have buried VOG weapons with the 365 weapon lvl. but they didn't! they brought it back to life and players thought they would have a choice going forward. People would have probably used the Skolas guns more if they had something to use them on. Raid weapons made the raids more enjoyable and you could feel how the hive disruptor word of Crota and many others did better in the Crota raid than any other weapon. When fighting Skolas, with dregs pride 2, fallen bonus sniper or shotgun and the best gun in the game ghorn, it was still not fun at all.

With you 100%. I honestly believe the more choice you have, the better the game. What's weird is that Bungie advocates player choice, but their actions contradict choice time and time again. What's weirder is the amount of players who follow without question. Maybe having to many options to choose from frightens them? I honestly don't know.

1 返信Can you please make sure that you add 1st Person in TTK for all social areas as an option in the settings. It is a really immersive point of view and would be great for destiny's social areas like the tower, reef and lighthouse. Please consider this.

This is so true. personally I cringe everytime I see people clamor for more matchmaking. I don't hate the mandatory MM, but I'd honestly be way more happy with optional MM, or even better a simple way to communicate to others when you're looking to group up.

I'd mentioned OPTIONAL matchmaking in the topic title, because few seem be able to read. And highlight/bold it in your post. Capitalize it in the title. Choreograph a song and dance about why having options is a good thing, and upload it to youtube.

How about OMM with ability that if you lock your fire team ability to friends only or closed you can solo it which some prefer. Cant say I am against it yes you get scrubs in match making it happens guys I agree there are a huge amount of tools playing on here. On the other hand I have a clan I started and have met some very good guys in the match making sessions who are now apart of the clan I have and are very cool. There is a middle ground here easily available to cover everyone optional is the word ability to turn it on or off, Your Choice. Welcome to democracy.

I'm with you and I've done almost ever activity in this game with out a mic at some point. There is no reason not to have it and in the end, without it, this is going to hurt the game. It already has and will continue to. Bungie doesn't do it cause they want it to seem special and it isn't. Says the 3 warlock man.

31 通の返信Gooch_McGrundleにより編集済み: 8/12/2015 8:46:14 PMMy problem with optional matchmaking is it'll be all the inexperienced players on it, and experienced players will build teams. The result will be a massive amount of failure in match made teams, and it'll discourage a lot of people. Sure, some lazy or unpopular experienced people will do matchmaking, but it will be a serious lack of balance. Also, i have a feeling no one in matchmaking will use a mic. I don't know why I feel this way, but I do.

Because skillless scrubs are afraid of change and anything they feel is a threat to the way they play. Whenever people have to adapt and adjust their strategy, they freak out and post rediculous suggestions/questions with no logical rationale.
