The interview was great, and honestly quite funny and informative.
He was asked questions, ranging from the new level cap (40) and new ghosts shells (this fall) to stuff like Paul McCartney in the Destiny Universe.
However... Nearing the end of the Interview, the interviewer asked Luke Smith:
"Is the Traveler Evil?"
Luke's face lost its smile, and he didn't respond for a solid 5 seconds.
His final response was "We will know more in time"
If this DOESNT indicate that something is happening regarding the Traveler being evil I don't know what does. Considering his entire interview was funny and quick responding.
Anyways, thanks!

At the end of "Lost" it was revealed that everyone had died in that plane crash. The writers said that they really didn't know how it was going to end, they were just trying to make it entertaining. There are a lot of interesting reads in this thread though.

Dark Souls influenced the game. In that series, cycles (and broken cycles) are very important. I believe that the Traveler and the Darkness has played out the ascension / collapse game many times. I think the Traveler ascended the Fallen, the Cabal, the Vex, the Hive (and there may be more). In each of the cases - the Darkness has come and the Traveler has fled. Not the most noblest of acts on the Traveler's part. In the game, the Traveler didn't flee bought instead fought and was damaged by the decision. One of the Grimoire Cards suggested that he did try to flee and then returned.
You have lived as invisibly as possible, flicking from solar system to solar system, making grand plans, overseeing the culturing of civilizations, before leaving in a blink. But you have no recollection of ever wanting worship or even thanks from those blessed by you. But memory is heavy now. It feels like lead and neutronium and electroweak matter fashioned into a moon-sized ball that you must carry as you move. Now, your flight is rapid, your vast mind infected with such dread and toxic doubt that you find yourself afraid of the simple act of thought. And it is your children you must turn to now, in time of need.
I think these ideas carry forth in other elements of the game. Dregden Yor = Hive (the reveling in the death and hate of the Darkness) Future War Cult = Cabal Dead Orbit = Fallen Another key influence is the Arthurian Knights - which is interesting with the New Monarchy and the Kell of Kells elements of the game.

5 通の返信Iv always said that the Traveler is a Dyson Sphere, much like the interior of the shield world Onyx in the Halo series.

2 通の返信I don't think the traveler is evil. The traveler is like a balanced thing/ creature. A god type of thing, just like the precessors of Halo. It gives prosperity and good things to those who know how to handle it. Mankind... wil be at first good with all the things they get of the Traveler, but then get greedy and evil. So the traveler makes a control system.... The Vex. The Vex are created by the Traveler to kill the humans because of the greedy and evil nature of the humans. This way he manage to keep every thing in balance. So first... he needs the humans. Then discovers that we are unthankfull and greedy (just look how we treat each other and our planet) and creates the Vex. Thats why the little ghost things in the VOG look just like our ghosts. So no.. he aint evil, but he will be a big danger to us. So the guardians are fighting together with him against the darkness (the hive), but fighting against him by fighting the time travelers... the Vex. Mind = blown.

The original story was you side with the crow and all that, but the end was you going into the traveler and killing it. The end of the game we know is going to the heart of the darkness and killing it. Merge em together and what do ya get? You going into the traveler to kill the black garden.

Interesting that he says the "official" Bungie solution for block moving equipment when not in the tower is "Tower Ghost"! If they think Tower Ghost is so good (it is) then why don't they simply build the same functionality into the game? If I could just press "option" and then "move my usual loadout to Hunter" I would be very happy indeed.

Rawmark001により編集済み: 8/7/2015 8:37:52 AMSome of the questions in the interview were funny and were thrilling But there is 2 questions that should've been ask and answered. Will the Stranger make a return? Is Toland, The Shattered alive?

2 通の返信singularityにより編集済み: 8/7/2015 3:13:52 AMIt was obvious that the Traveler wasn't what it seemed to be. I mean, if a giant white ball just suddenly went to earth and was like "Yo, can I just float here and chill", what would you think lol

The Grimoire about the Traveler implies that it is well-intentioned. There's more cryptic stuff, too, however, that implies it is being forced to do something or possibly being controlled. I think the reason he took so long to answer was because the Traveler itself isn't evil, but it may be doing something evil, and in any case he can't be spilling the beans.
