I don't feel like going to level 40, just like in other games like borderlands or cod where the grind lasts forever to reach master prestige and level 70, each level taking longer and longer. I would be ok with more levels if there was a mission to go with each one but let's be honest, bungie won't do that. And remember that time you reached level 20 and then you were like "wow this is so cool, I can use all this cool armour that boosts my level!" Light levels were a very unique feature in destiny and they are removing it. Destiny is going to mainstream and I doubt I'll be buying TTK for that amazingly high price..
Edit- most of you are idiots. Why would you want to grind a game by doing the same missions and crucible over and over. Just go play cod if you want a repetitive experience with literally 500-1000 levels of grinding, each one harder than the next!
Edit- If the game started like this it would of been dead by now, let's be honest because other games like this already exist.

The light mechanic and the simple gear selections are what made this game unique among console shooters. It was more complex than Call of Duty but I don't think Destiny is improved by becoming Skyrim In Space.

I don't know why they were there in the first place. They should have had enough foresight to see that there was going to be a huge jump in the light grind that would only increase. Once you have all maxed out blue gear you instantly jump 8 levels when purchasing all legendary gear. The system worked great for the initial release, but once TDB hit, the problem became instantly apparent. This is a better system. Work your way up and find the top tier rewards as you go. The grind is the same, only this time you're not using the marks you grind for to buy your level.

9 通の返信It's BS now anyway. Last week I started a hunter AND a warlock from scratch, ran them both to 34 in that single week. There are a multitude of ways to exploit the light level system to jump right to max light cap. The system is broken/flawed. Basing level on exp is much much better. It also ensures new players will be far behind for awhile.

1 返信I've been reading posts and watching videos today and I suspect that this might happen - light is removed - everyone is a lvl20 - there is a 1 time buff to get to the minimum lvl to start the taken king. This can only be used on 1 character - you will have to grind your other characters to the minimum level to start the taken king If this is how it plays out, sorry, but I'm out. My progress doesn't carry over to TTK? Well guess what? It doesn't carry over to Fallout 4 either - or Star Wars Battlefront.

5 通の返信I only see a problem for people that delete toons and make new ones. I have been waiting for this for 8 months. This is how it should have been.

You can take the light out of Destiny, but you can never take out the grinding. Bungie will have us grinding for 10 years if we keep buying into this scam - I am not a rat in a maze looking for cheese Bungie, give me something to do for once that isn't a repetitive grind! Horrible game in general.

1 返信Op: asks how we feel about this.. And slams our opinion. Oh wait that's right. It's the destiny forums. I shouldn't have expected less.

1 返信Yeah the light system was unique but solely basing your level off of your eng drops is a terrible idea glad it's so based. And we still aren't even sure if that's max level. I've been hearing 40 is the soft cap which means you can go higher

21 maps in rotation in the crucible if you buy TTK, so I don't think it will really be that repetitive. Plus, it's fun. And, there's new crucible game types like rift (so excited for!) and mayhem. In addition, you'll be grinding out the exp to level up your new subclass, so why not have it help your overall level as well?

2 通の返信FL NIGHTMAREにより編集済み: 8/5/2015 6:26:17 PMYes the reason is it will open up the possibility of being max lvl but using a rare armor if you choose. In the end it give the devs more ways to customize the armor. Thays why other rpg follow this strategy

It makes more sense to do it on exp so it depends on how much you play and not just luck or what you buy. So you will not look at a level 34 and wonder why they haven't a clue what they are doing. Is that not good?

Light levels weren't really unique. MMOs use the feature to lock you at a low level and force you to do endgame content to get gear that levels you higher. They're going to force you to do endgame content to level up. I'm guessing endgame gear will just be the best at it's level.
