HOW HARD IS TO START RAIDING!
I finally got to level 32 and want to start raiding but just the idea make me nervous. First you have to find a team, bunch of people that will probably judge you because you don't know what you are doing, people with better weapons and I am sure a lot of them will drop you when you need to be revived every minute. I hope I can find a team willing to help me through the process, but have not been lucky so far. I am probably an average player but feel like I don't have good enough weapons a few scout legendary rifles, red death, universal shotgun, patient and time a bunch of legendary sniper rifles a legendary machine gun and an exotic launcher. Any advise?
Update: I finally killed Atheon! Thanks to the Fireteam who helped me thru the whole Raid and did not give up. It took us 3 hours to kill the bitch but we did it. Ill do normal a few more times then Crota is next

I was late starting my first raid too, but nowadays it should be easy to start because pretty much everybody is level 34 by now. Ages ago when my team were doing VoG for the first time most of us were using Rare guns or pretty crappy legendaries. The teamwork it took to complete it was crazy

2 通の返信in reality its probably easier now to get a raid team then it has been in the past. just hit an lfg site. Post out that your a newbie that wants to learn the raids better. Dragging newbies through is one of the only things that makes the raids fun anymore. Other than a small chance of getting pretorians foil i don't even run the raids much other than to help friends through. Really as long as two or three people in the group can run relic the other three just need to know how to hold a sync plate. As far as weapons. If you don't have any good weapons, a void shotty, a sniper, a machine gun, and any rocket launcher (preferrably one that tracks) is all you need. run whatever primary works best for you, for me its a scout rifle as i don't run out of ammo. Keep the purple shotty equipped, to make short work of pretorians and minotaurs this setup should get you all the way to the templar (unless you get one of those groups that wants to wipe and go up top for oracles, then lose the shotty for the sniper). The templar is reallyt he only time i use rockets (until you feel decent enough to go into the portals during the gatekeeper sequence). In the end (atheon) run your sniper and your machine gun. If you get warped into mars or venus the machine gun will have enough dps to take out oracles without being a drag on the group. if you don't get warped in then you can hide on a pillar and take out the harpies, switch to the sniper for shooting at atheon when your in the center, the machine gun does more damage but its more important to have the ammo for taking out the oracles and or the harpies. If the oracles don't get wiped out everyone dies, if the 3 people die from the harpies everyone dies, if you don't do enough damage to atheon everyone goes through the warping process again. I would rather go through another round then worry about a newbie not getting the oracles or dieing outside. Don't use rockets on atheon, they do decent damage but they cause atheon to move so you've now made everyone else miss, your better off not firing then causing him to move. This setup worked for me until i was able to get some better raid weapons. You should get VOC/Praidiths reveng/ or Found Verdict within a few raids.

Just gotta find players who have elitist mentalilyt...(Not must have A to play with B type players) Players who realize we have all been there... are first raid, the not knowing or in experience... glad you found some patient players, hope you got some good loot. destiny lfg.net or on here in the raid section. facebook groups, there're alot of options.. typed terrible but idc yall
