Please explain to me how it is not cheating. I can't wrap my head around how someone can make a logical counter-argument as to how exploiting a bug in the coding in competitive multiplayer for their own benefit is not cheating. not trying to be a douchebag. I'm not interested in proving anybody wrong either, I genuinely want to know how it's not considered cheating.

Equipping armor and grenades is standard practice. It's not cheating if it just so happens to provide extra super energy. The player did not manipulate code, or do anything out of the normal. It may be unethical if they know that it is an exploit, but that does not make it cheating. It's just like jumping up from the rock at the second lamp in the abyss. It's not cheating, just jumping and taking a shortcut. Bungie has issued a patch to rectify the issue, which prevents stacking of the perk on both Warlock and Hunter, and a 10s cool down. So, now as a sunsinger with this perk, you have to count to ten before throwing the second grenade or it won't give you the extra super energy...

no, that's not the exploit. the stackin armor is not the issue. it's the perks on the armor that are bugged. they're supposed to trigger on [b]kills[/b] & are triggering on hit markers. that's the lesser substantial issue of the glitch. The bad part is that it's counting each munition of the swarm nades as one full grenade. Which there's abt 10 in each grenade. if only 3 hit you, they get super energy equal to that of getting a triple kill w. One grenade. & it's double stacked because of the perks. One properly throw grenade literally Fills your super. That is exploiting a bug in the armor's coding, in competitive multiplayer. that's cheating In my book, & many many others.

I've read the patch. but that doesn't have to do w. What I posted. there is no way anybody can make a logical argument that using any kind of glitch/hack/bug/exploit/lag switch in competitive multiplayer is not cheating. that's what I was getting at, only because you'd said it isn't cheating... the patch notes isn't what we were talking about at this point in time. you'd said its not cheating, & I explained why it's undeniable fact that it is cheating...

The user is not modifying code, so not cheating. By your rules, using thorn is cheating. If it's in the game, accessible by all... Its not cheating. It's cheap, yes, unethical, yes... But not cheating. Cheating is breaking the rules. If there are no rules against something being used, and it it's used, then it is not cheating. You have an illusion in your head that using an exploit is cheating. It's not, it's smart if you benefit from it. If it is stated to be against the rules, then it is cheating. I come from a racing background, and the job of the racing engineer is to find these grey area exploits, and take as much advantage of them as you can without crossing over the black line. Arguing that something is cheating or not is irrelevant when not you or I make the rules. All you state it's your opinion, and I state mine. Just tried the glitch for the first time, and it does basically nothing. So, it's patched, and equipping such armor and grenade, is it still cheating? As a competitive player, your role is to use equipment that benefits you. This grenade glitch would not have benefited me much in any way, I would still have been better off using tripmine grenades and using armor that gave me more attributes.

You actually believe that if it's not "breaking the rules", it's not cheating..? What rules are there in Destiny's pvp? I didn't know there was a specific rule book. I would like to read it. As far as I know, there is no rule book for PvP. there is no written rules by Bungie for us to follow. Although, they consider backing out of a lobby, as cheating. & banned people for it. So to me, & many many others, it's cheating. Sure you can use your trip mine all you want. You could get a kill, maybe even a triple. or one could've used a swarm, & if thrown effectively, would've charged their super. one grenade, would charge their super if thrown effectively. So it would've been up to you to choose which is more useful. a golden gun w. Every properly thrown nade, or 1-3 maximum kills w. A trip mine. I guess since there's no rules, it's opinions. but you forfeit standing behind that when you say I'm having illusions of something. using hacks/bugs/glitches/lag switches, in competitive multiplayer for your benefit is considered cheating to any right-minded player in the community. regardless of textbook definition "you need to break a rule to be cheating". There's no logistics behinds your statements or theories. using a definition of cheating doesn't make it fair... If Bungie did make this rule book you speak of, you are truly foolish to think that exploiting bugs in multiplayer would be allowed. that is a truly ridiculous & delusional assumption. Regardless of specifics, like if the player personally interrupted the coding. it doesn't make it ok, or justify it in any way. Cheating is cheating. No matter how specific you wanna get.
