Bullying anyone is wrong. It doesn't matter what their situations or conditions are.

Me: Why, hello sir. Surely you understand that this boy is special needs. If it not previously, you do now. Knowing this, I advise you to refrain from bullying this helpless kid. Bully: Oh yeah? What er you gunna do about it, huh? Huh? Huh? (Pushes me) Me: Well, surely we can settle this like adults. I propose we talk about this later today during lunch hours. Before that, I simply ask that you bully nobody until we talk. Bully: (holds me by the collar of my shirt and threatens to punch me, then pulls out a knife) You wanna get cut, nerd? Me: 0_0 Suddenly, the special needs kid does a flying drop kick on the bully. Me: Whoa! That was awesome! Special Needs Kid: Just doing some... Story time with Schruef! Gather 'round, kids. As some of you know, my sister has down-syndrome. She's 15, still in diapers and can't speak English too well. One day, years ago, we were walking home. Jill decided to run home. She was exited to watch spongebob like always. My best friends' brother said "hah! Why is she still in diapers!". I continued to grab his neck, throw him on the nearest car and slap him 4 times before I was taken off of him. I've protected her before this and after, but never gotten into an actual fight. I don't plan to either. But, I've gotten into fights to protect her. Gotten a few kids detention/suspension. And I have a rule. If I were to ever see a teacher abusing Jill in any way, I'd take her, tell them who I am, hand them my student ID, put Jill on my back and leave. They can't touch me because they'd get fired. My point is, I'd do anything for her. Period.

What's wrong with bullying then? If they're supposedly equal to everyone else and can do anything a normal person can, why treat them any differently?

There are a lot of sociopaths in this world, but those that are younger need to be focused on. You need to remove them from that kind of situation that enables them to dominate over people like that, and you need to help them form real, significant bonds with other peers. Counsel them and help them come to terms with their insecurities. Don't be kicking anyone's ass or getting all uppitty. Bullies are usually just as miserable as those they torture.
