That's just our galaxy people. There's hundreds of billions of galaxies in our universe. That's a lot of potential for life. We're not special snowflakes.

What if the human was the end of all things living? What if our species left mars how it is? What if the human was simply a seed to end all things in the universe? There is simply too many possibilities to fathom.

I don't want humans to colonize other planets. Why? For centuries, eons even, there has been the age old fact of entire species being killed or endangered by none other than foreign diseases. The Bubonic Plague is one of those instances. Imagine what damage we could do to the wildlife of not only a different landmass, but an entirely different planet! And imagine what damage could be done to us. Our bodies wouldn't know how to react to foreign components and illnesses. It would require us to literally evolve an immunity to [planet name]'s different diseases. And what about the food? We couldn't eat that either. Maybe not even drink the water. On top of that, we would be starting from scratch. We would know little about wildlife, plant life, what's dangerous, what isn't, types of environments, natural disasters. But my biggest fear is: us. Even if we could triumph all these thing, the greedy and the soulless would just corrupt our new frontier all over again. Sell the animals as pets, crossbreed wildlife, genetically engineer them to fit OUR design, not nature's. We would drive MORE species to extinction because of hunting, a sport that would skyrocket with the discovery of alien wildlife.

Millions upon millions of flakes, each crystallized on its own and no two are identical. A sky full of such things, each unique, but all similar, each part of a swarming, swirling and falling cascade of a snapshot in the nearly infinite existence of billions of molecules that have existed for a very, very long time and that have been snow and snowflakes before, and will be different snowflakes countless times again. You can say that an individual snowflake isn't special and I can understand and accept that as your view. But to me? Each one of them, every pile, every time I see snow, I am struck with wonder and awe.

It's possible. If people Deny the fact your basically saying there are no planets. There is so much planets that is out there and possible with life! Think about it, well artificial intelligence will discover it because of the regions on planets and of black matter. We can create artificial intelligence that could withstand a black hole!

19 通の返信Liquid water has recently been found on Mars so we already have a potential candidate for future life. Mars it already easy (relatively speaking) to terraform to livable standards.

3 通の返信No. We're not. The even cooler thing is that earth isn't even the best place for life. Our science professor last year was talking about how they had theorized that there are planets far better for life than earth due to bigger magnetic fields, and less dangerous weather/ tectonic activity. So not only are we not special snowflakes, we are not even star students.

Well I mean [i]i still am[/i] but the rest of you, not special snowflakes. In all seriousness though I've been saying this for years, if you think about the shear amount if planets out there, even if its a lotteries chance of life those are good odds. I'm always met with "then way haven't they visited us" smh just because there is life on other planets doesn't mean they are an advance race of super being, or even intelligent life at all. Even if there was, finding this planet would be like finding a needle in like a million haystacks, we aren't the center of the universe.
