If the Vex could use time travel to wipe out their enemies, why haven't they done so to the City?

It's possible that: A) Humanity may have played a role in the creation of the Vex, thus erasing humanity before the event that lead to their creation occurred would also wipe them from existence. B) A time paradox may occur. If humanity never existed, the Vex would have had no reason to travel back in time in the first place. C) The Vex aren't actually hostile and are just studying and messing around with the various races they encounter.

A) interesting theory. Is that a lore based reference to something or just a theory? B) we... Dont really have a set explanation for how time travel works in the destiny universe. It could be multiverse theory, or something else. C) i... Highly doubt that. We dont know much about their motives but the stranger did say they were "evil so dark it despises other evil" They seem to want to kill everything. I still dont fully understand the relationship between the hostile alien factions and the darkness either.
True, but then the possibility of time paradoxes cannot be denied.
C) i... Highly doubt that. We dont know much about their motives but the stranger did say they were "evil so dark it despises other evil"
I actually feel that C) was the most likely reason. There have been zero records of the Vex actually launching an "attack" against human territory. They did turn Mercury into a machine, but did humanity actually fight the Vex there? If we have engaged the Vex before, why do we know so little about them when our guardian first encountered them on Venus? All our engagements with the Vex are due to us encroaching upon their territory. Where did we fight the Vex? "H-hey don't touch that non-baryonic stream! I'm not done torrenting my 30 exabytes of motherboard on ram porn yet!" "Didn't you guys ditch this place? Alright hold on a second lemme turn off the Nex- No, no, no! Goddammit you didn't have to destroy it!" "What the hell man you can't just break into our research facility. We're trying to figure out the secrets of space and time over here. Wait Kabr, don't punch that! It might accidentally erase some of you fro-" Seriously though they could just have been carrying out research. Most of their units aren't strictly meant for combat. The weapons that the Goblins and Hobgoblins use can also be used as energy transmitters. Minotaurs are also construction workers. Cyclops are giant sensors while Hydra process data from other units. And if you ask me, the stranger is shady as -blam!-. She has never actually helped us achieve our goals, not even indirectly. At least the Vex soften the Fallen and Cabal up a little when they fight. All she's done is tell us to go kill some Vex because they're evil, but she never tells us why they're evil. I've always felt that Guardians were a little too much like religious zealots, never stopping to question why they fight or who is it they are actually fighting against.
