Being a long time Bungie/Halo fan I felt betrayed that Bungie played favorites and gave PSN users extra content for the same price I had to pay for the game and DLC. I understand from a business perspective that Playstation users wouldn't have been too keen on buying the game seeing that it was being developed by a former rival developer and they needed an extra incentive to hook the customers. Now that they have their fanbase they no longer need the extra content right? The exclusives are set to end in September, but Activision has a way of screwing people over and announcing things without implying that Xbox users wont be getting it. This makes me afraid that they'll continue to ignore half the fanbase and milk us for our money knowing that it will sell on the name Bungie alone on the Xbox.
Gotta hate corporate greed.
I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on exclusives, bad or good. Please forgive my bad English today, I forgot to sleep last night. If I missed anything or just spouted something absolutely wrong, let me know and I'll correct it.
Get commenting :P
Edit: They did just that. Bungie/Activision renewed exclusive content for PSN. Honestly, i'm outraged. Seriously, -blam!- exclusives and -blam!- you Activision. You make it REAL hard to like you Bungie. Real -blam!-ing hard.

Here at activision we love out customers and F*ck You... Oh sorry that slipped out. As I was saying we want the community to enjoy our games. We are also aware that F*ck You... My bad we know the community has a few issues with our game, and we are working as hard as we can to F*ck You... Fix them. Signing Off, F*ck You Activision CEO

I can deal with a month or two exclusive but a year is too much. I won't buy Comet expansion if PS has year long exclusive content. And really wouldn't PS owners like to see the exclusive strikes added to the nightfall rotation already? And Xur to have the exclusive exotics?

Only thing that pisses me off in destiny is............ ONE -blam!-IN GHOST SHELL!!!!! REALLY BUNGIE? ONE -blam!-ING GHOST SHELL
-
Lets not fool ourselves people. WE WILL ALL BUY THIS with or without exclusive content for ps4 or Xone. WE ARE ADDICTED

The contract (which you can look up) states that Activision owns distribution rights, which includes content to a certain degree. However, Bungie retains intellectual property of Destiny (this was not the case with Halo, seeing that Microsoft owns it). To me, this looks like Bungie tried hard to keep their games this time around, which is best in the long run, even for the price they had to pay. Most funders/distributors won't fund/distribute without the rights to the entire franchise, but it looks like Bungie got Activision to agree to it. This is good because it means we won't end up seeing a second 343i, and therefore, an additional split of our beloved Bungie. PlayStation may have exclusive content, and I'm alright with that, but Xbox still has the better community and, frankly, the better players. That's our exclusive content.

After nearly 3000 hrs put into to Destiny, I'm slowly pulling away from the this game... its more focused on PVP ( which I'm not a huge fan of) at the moment and now with an extra year of exclusivity on PVE content, there is nothing there to keep me interested in playing... bring on Fallout 4

Im done. Going and buying Elder Scrolls tonight. May continue to play Destiny. But will not buy the expansion. They can go and -blam!- themselves. Bunch of -blam!-s!!

I've busted my ass in this game always telling myself, can't wait until September so I can finally get the new content! Turns out i'll need to wait another year to play content I don't even know exists yet. Seriously Bungie, you have your PSN fanbase, you don't need to kill your Xbox one.

I totally agree with you, man. I'm also miffed at Activision since they axed like half of what Joe Staten wrote for the game... Then, after he got fed-up and left, they realized that he actually had very good ideas, so brought someone in to have the Grimoire Cards as a substitute. God I hate Activision.

cross-platform games with a single platform exclusives are unethical business practices. Single platform exclusive games are a completely different beast.
-
With the CoD argument: in the situation that the exclusivity is prolonged, Xbox users will have paid the same amount of money for less game. With CoD you still got it, just a little bit delayed. And it makes a bigger difference when there's so little content.

We shouldn't suffer for the two companies fighting to be the best (most profitable) This isn't the future of gaming

I'm a playstation user all the way, but I think the timed exclusives are just stupid. 1 good gun. One ok gun. One pile of shitgun. And 2 strikes that SUCK. You're not missing out. As it is, the concept of this console exclusive crap just annoys me though. It helps only the developers. Gamers get screwed.

There really isn't anything to whine about except for hawkmoon and Sony paid bungie and we didn't have halo or any Xbox only game bungie had at least you also have destiny it's just strikes and maps you still have a game don't be ungrateful
