Open House: Healing Effects

There are a variety of healing abilities in the game, and most have two key aspects in common: the healing triggers off of kills, and it stops if you take damage while regenerating. However, one weapon violates both of these mechanics: SUROS Regime. Is this distinction intentional? If so, why? Does SUROS really need that much of a leg up on Red Death, whose healing is only triggered from kills? Is it by design that it counters Thorn by completely nullifying its poison, not from kills but damage? This is just my opinion, but Thorn strikes me as a healing counter, yet the most popular healing mechanic in the game completely undoes it. What's more important than the SUROS vs. Thorn argument is the inconsistency. The differences in description, "restores a portion of health" and "triggers health regeneration", don't offer much clarity. On a related note, having custom games would allow us to explore and test these game mechanics with more reliability. I'm aware of all the threads on this subject so I won't go on, I'm just adding my voice with this footnote. Thanks for taking the time to communicate with people directly, I hope you have time to read my last-minute post.
