Let me share a little story with those of you who will actually read the whole thing.. September 11, 2001. I was doing treework on a local golf course when we heard about the first plane hitting the towers. At first we were all thinking it was just a terrible accident or something. But then the second plane hit. And suddenly the news was filled with reports of terrorists and an attack on American soil. For a while there, the media was sounding like we were in an all out invasion. Paranoia was spreading fast. It's about this time, my boss calls and tells us all to go home to our families. I make a quick stop at a gas station on my way home. When I enter the store, I see two people yelling at the store clerk. Now.. I won't call these two guys stupid -blam!-ing rednecks.. but they sure were wearing the stupid -blam!-ing redneck uniform. Anyway.. these guys are screaming at the clerk and trying to get him to come out from behind the counter. They kept calling him "terrorist" and accusing him of responsibility of what was going on (Bare in mind.. the first tower hadn't even fallen yet). I could see they clerk obviously terrified and saying over and over "NO, NO, NO! I'm no terrorist!" For the record.. the guy wasn't even Muslim. One glance around the cash register showed he was clearly Hindu. So myself and a guy who came in just behind me quickly step in and the whole thing turns into a really big pushing and shoving match for a minute before the clerk has the time to get on the phone with the police. Then the jerks decide it's no longer worth their time and take off before they end up in jail. This was an example of just how serious situations can get when fueled by fear and misinformation. And why not only the media, but also every other rational and intelligent human being has an obligation to speak out against this kind of stereotyping whenever they can. Sure.. you may be able to see that it's all internet jokes. But clearly there is a lot of really stupid people out there. And those stupid people really don't need more encouragement.

I hate peoples overuse of the word suffix "phobia." It means an irrational fear. Stop using it for [b]everything[/b].

It seems like the only time Muslims say anything against or condemning of the acts that the terrorists are doing is when a non muslin brings up that point. There is no general outrage or discontent of so called peaceful Muslims with the actions of "the minority". If they truly condemned it, they would stop the terrorists from killing women and children in cold blood.

The difference between radical Muslims and non-radical Muslims is this: Radicals want to cut your head off. Non-radicals want to watch the radicals cut your head off.

Yeah, not all...but you cant say its just a few "bad apples" when whole communitys of people......(little kids included) gather in the middle of town for stonings and other middle age stuff.

Where's Christianphobia? Or Hinduphobia? Buddistphobia? Also funny how people will call you racist if you disagree with Islam. Oh it's also strange how after every attack on Western society, there's some sort of campaign portraying Islam as a peaceful religion, meanwhile the innocent lives lost get buried underneath it all. Of course there are nice individual Muslims, denying that is ignorant, but Islam itself globally is a plague to the human race.
