This sounds like the same nonsense where people complain about something going up for Bright Dust after they spent Silver on it or when an expansion goes on sale after they paid full price. You've had it longer than others, don't be petty.

Maybe the best move for Bungie would be to stop putting weapons on reward tracks altogether, that way everyone only gets the vaunted god rolls through RNG. None of this will likely matter once the new episode drops with new gear and people forget all about this one anyway.
