Well, not really… A [i]crowd sourced[/i] feature called Community Notes that has been enabled on the Twitter/X platform meant to allow users to “fight misinformation” [b]initially[/b] appended the following note: [quote]Misleading post. In a recent interview with the PM of Israel, Elon stated they will introduce 'lower tier pricing' for premium members. There was absolutely no mention of charging everyone to use X. Interview Timestamp: 34:40[/quote] The problem with misinformation labels being appended to posts via [i]crowd sourcing[/i] such as the Community Notes feature is that a group of like-minded accounts can erroneously apply such a label to any post at least for a short time by simply upvoting a false label as being “helpful”. The tag labeling the post as misleading has since been altered, removing the term “misleading” as well as the statement that “There was absolutely no mention of charging everyone to use X”. The label now been changed to state: [quote]The exact quote from Elon at 34:40 of the interview is: 'A small monthly payment for use of the X system is, it is the only way I can think of to combat vast armies of bots.[/quote] This excerpted quote from the interview makes no mention that it applies only to current premium accounts, and thus does nothing to refute the original story.
