The past few months I have been going back and forth between Destiny 2 and Halo Infinite. And I started following a YouTube channel from Sean W. A Halo Youtuber who also tried to play Destiny 2 when content in Infinite was dry.
And a big portion of his viewers who also play Destiny 2 essentially told him to NOT get into Destiny 2! Mainly because if you haven't played D2 for the past few years you're so low on materials that you will always be behind. Unless you no-life the game.
And that feels pretty much spot on. 400 legendary shards for an Ascendant Alloy. 97 legendary shards (if I remember correctly) for an exotic engram from Xur. 100 legendary shards to pick something from Saint 14. The list goes on. How is that doable for a new players? Yeah If your name is Rick Kackis or Aztecross you have 10.000+ legendary shards, but if you're new you have nothing.
Twitch streamers and Youtubers who essentially play this game for a living and can afford to play this game for 40+ hours a week have been shooting thrall for hours upon hours just to level up their guns because it would have taken 5 times longer if they just played regular activities. XD How the hell is that fun? And how would that work for new players and people who can't play this game 40 hours a week?
I get that Destiny 2 is a grindy game. But can we tune the grind from 80% to maybe 50% and the game part from 20% to 50%? Thanks!

1 返信Try amassing Ascendant shards as a new player without PAY 2 WIN! Try amassing Ascendant shards as a casual players as well It's only the 1% that have an abundance of shards, prisms that can continue enjoy all the rewards in this game. Sometimes i wonder if we play the same game, cause when i outfit my guardian with the EXACT same mods, and armor, weapons, my character seem much much weaker, even if my stats are almost the same. Youtubers and Twitchers do solo lost sectors and do not even take any damage, and when others try the same they gets one shoted by redbars!, and their strategy are almost the same, and they have run these sectors hundreds of times as well ,but with no positive result! Something reeks, a dead dog perhaps

2 通の返信that's ignorant of his followers. So, any game that has renewed content, you shouldn't hop into? So, I probably shouldn't start playing CoD since I'm so far behind, it's "not worth it". I have a full time job, and a family, with a social life - I don't need to play 40 hours/week to get resources and materials - and I do just fine. You play the game, you get the materials. I got enough legendary shards from breaking down bad rolls (which happens a lot) to get the Alloys. Unwillingness to put forth the effort to grind is why casuals have no place in this game

Unfortunately, Bungie looks at the gamerd who’ve been playing D2 for years. Especially in vanilla D2 there wasn’t much you needed to spend legendary shards on. Some players have 8K+ shards. It takes a long time to save earn 400 legendary shards. Shards are used in a lot of upgrade and other vendor purchases too.

5 通の返信I agree to an extent but now imagine xur only accepts strange coins and you can only earn like 10 a week and ot cost 13 for a gun so you get exotic armor instead because who would use an exotic rocket launcher

3 通の返信Yes i no life this game new player to d2 as a returning player from d1, and grinding/playing all day gets me about 100-300 shards, which is usually alot of work and never feels worth it just to buy the daily enhancement cores from rahool tho.. so not spending any of that on alloys ever almost EVERYTHING costs shards, its like grind all day and decide where the shards go.. takes away from the satisfaction of farming why not just use glimmer then... or some other currency you can grind for.. like there isn't already too much and also the comment section is a hilarious metaphor or representation of what is wrong with the economy, people who have privilege (lots of shards) cannot perceive their privilege, and people who don't have that privilege have to constantly scrape and grind just to be at Zero everyday. its nothing to do with hard work or grinding or farming, you just started the game at a more beneficial time lmao

1 返信I feel ya man. Between running a business, working out, my family and just life in general. I had to pretty much stop playing. I just can't keep up. This game is in a very bad spot. I won't buy the one. No point.

2 通の返信You’re completely right and that is the main problem with this game. I’ve been playing Elden Ring for two weeks and I’m not relevant anymore in Destiny. Two f*!%#g weeks! I’m behind on the weapon grind, the levelling, the crafting, the triumphs for the season. This game demands such a massive and absolutely consistent time investment it’s just not healthy anymore.

8 通の返信A new player shouldn't be worrying about crafting besides the basics, and point is to get you to play the GAME to obtain those materials rather than buying them at a vendor. Lastly, Destiny is not that grindy as loot-based games, or MMOs are concerned.

2 通の返信I hear you, but remember that the weapon crafting system was at least initially marketed as an endgame-level grind to make your perfect weapon. They obviously didn't realize just how hungry we are for loot though and here we are. The 400 shards for one ascendant alloy is precisely for those streamers/no-life gamers who already have thousands upon thousands of legendary shards from years of playing (and mostly from cheesing/AFK farming back in the day). You're also not missing out much on enhanced traits; the benefits are marginal and mostly for min-max players or people who like seeing shiny stuff. The only exception I guess is the Osteo Striga (and likely the exotic glaives but I don't think those have catalysts yet) but the weekly story mission and master difficulty wellspring are dropping them fairly often IMO.

Nihilus247により編集済み: 3/11/2022 7:52:10 PMIt is a ridiculous cost to be honest. People saying just to grind the game for shards are missing the point. Bungie have designed a ridiculous amount of resource systems into the game. They are not designed with player availablity in mind. They introduce a resource system, which invariably is broken, then instead of fixing that system they analyse the numbers, see that say 10% of the player base has +10k shards etc and then set the cost for materials based on that. It's got nothing to do with "endgame" or being casual or whatever reason you want to come up with. It's Bungie designing resource systems to limit the strain on their game systems with the task of keeping track of all these materials. That's why we have a vault space limit and why we have such restrictive stack limits on some material storage. So, OP has a point when he says that new or casual players are penalised by the economy system and it is not about their play time.

Alloys and Shards are too damn expensive and I really don't care if some if some of you are capped on em and your postmaster is full because you run GM's and master Wellspring all day. Not everyone plays exactly like you or has infinite free time. Game should be fair for everyone not just players like you guys.

2 通の返信Destiny Vet, and totally agree - should be 200 max. As for those posting do the activities and dont be lazy - go have a chat with Bungies Rng - 4 master campaigns and not 1 alloy.

Just imagine if the scumbags actually ran a real currency… It just shows they have ZERO confidence in their game. That if it wasn’t for these ridiculous caps/costs, they believe we wouldn’t just play the game for I don’t know a thing called FUN. Truly pathetic

I whole-heartedly agree that the grind for legendary shards is really steep for new players. Exotics from Xur should cost less, and so should a few other things. Bungie’s making Ascendent Alloys and Enhanced Perks essentially the end-game along with Ascendent Shards. The price should be crazy high for a currency as common as legendary shards. Ascendent alloy should also: - Drop from GMs and Trials Lighthouse Runs with the same commonality as (in addition to) Ascendent Shards. - Spending an Ascendent Alloy unlocks the perk to be used again at either a reduced or 0 cost (of neutral element)

2 通の返信Weapon crafting is not intended for new light or super casual players to be able to easily do. If you don’t have 400 shards to spare why would you even be wanting to craft anyway. Some things will be grindy in this game. Just a fact of life.
