Ignorance of the law (knowing what your money actually bought) on your part, doesn’t make Bungie criminals on their. The entitlement of some people. You didn’t but any of the games content. You bought a license that allowed you to use Bungie’s property. It is still their right to do as they wish with THEIR property. What you’re doing is like claiming that your $15 movie ticket or $25 download purchase gives you ownership of the movie, and the right to decide what the studio does with it. No. It doesn’t.

  • I'm not ignorant of the law. You are. CDPR got hit with a class action for failing to deliver what they promised and what they did was less egregious than this debacle. Also, you're using the wrong metaphor. What is happening here is essentially the same as buying a license to a movie and then having access to that movie completely removed--WHICH ***IS*** ILLEGAL. I know how -blam!- copyright law works, I'm a developer myself. You want to gaslight people and tell them they don't have a case thats fine. All I'm saying is we leave it up to the courts to decide because it is legitimately not up to you and it definitely isnt up to bungie to self police. There are consumer protections in place that no amount of TOS or bluster could invalidate.

    1. Yes you are. The fact you are here ranting about what you are, is proof that you are. Bungie is well within their legal rights to be doing what they are doing with their property. Bungie never sold you ownership of the game or any of its contents. If you failed to READ the contract (LSA) you signed, then that’s YOUR FAULT. 2. What happened with Cyberpunk is not relevant here. CDPR got smacked because they came dangerously close to committing fraud. They conspired to hide what the game looked like and how it ran on console until after the game released. Reviewers were not allowed to record or publish any of their own footage from playing the game. They had to use footage provided by CDPR. Which shows they knew that what people would have seen would have been negatively received. 3. Bungie has been very transparent about what they are doing and why they are doing it. Last-Gen consoles simply don’t have enough memory to allow the game to just continue to grow, and they don’t have the resources to keep endlessly updating dead parts of the game. So you have had ample time to leave the game and save your money if you find this unacceptable as a consumer. But just because you don’t like it, doesn’t make it illegal. In fact you’re the only one acting outside of the law by leveling libelous (untrue and damaging accusations in writing) accusations at Bungie by a cling them criminals. Something you could be sued for. Fortunately for you, Bungie almost certainly won’t bother.

CDPR came dangerously close to committing fraud. Bungie ACTUALLY did. Hell, bungie advertised the infinite forest as basically a procedural roguelite mode with infinite replayability. You don't remember that? You've got a really selective memory. The statute of limitations on fraud is 5 years. Again, you're legally illiterate, so you don't know this, but you don't actually get to decide what "ample time" is, the court does. You're some -blam!- -blam!- gaslighting people on the internet so they don't take legal action against a company who scammed them which is pretty sus as it is. Nothing i have said could ever remotely be classified as libel. Again, the fact that you're saying something that absurd should be proof to any rational observer with a modicum of legal sense that you have none yourself. And again, and incredibly suspect thing to say coming from presumably just another player of the game. What motivation do you have to shame and degrade people for wanting to be fairly compensated for being scammed out of their money by video game publishers? I think its fair to say here that on the bungie forums the inmates are running the asylum. They control the narrative here and have a motivation to dissuade any criticism or potential legal action directed at them and carefully cultivate a community of rabid trolls to defend them. The opinions expressed here by and large do not reflect the opinions of the consumers of the gaming industry as a whole who are almost unanimously fed up with behavior like this from large AAA video game publishers. Legal or not--and its definitely not legal--no one could argue in a million years that what they have done here is RIGHT. At the end of the day the only way to know whether their TOS are enforceable here is to actually test it and your bile and hatred comes from a deep seated fear of that actually BEING tested. All i've come here to say is that it should. Whether arbitration or in the court of law, class action waiver or no, legal action needs to be taken.

I’m done. Feel free to shake your fist at the clouds and rant. You. Have. Nothing. The Intellectual Property laws are on Bungie’s side. The fact that you are unhappy is a personal problem. I wish you luck with it. Next time, read contracts before signing them. If you try to sue Bungie, you’ll get laughed out of any respectable lawyers office BEFORE it ever gets to court. You cannot reason someone out of a position that they didn’t reason themselves into.
