Ok, So I just returned to destiny. Previously I bought up to Warmind and finally had the ability to afford Forsaken, Shadow Keep, and Beyond light. Now that planets are going into the vault, weapons and even raids, that is a Base game and 3 paid for expansions going away from the game. Things we players bought. Now I have 3 weeks to get everything I paid for before it goes away, when I have a job and life. Sure we are getting the Cosmodrome back and a new planet but that's stuff we get with every new expansion. My question to Bungie is, since you are canning over $120 from players and basically coming into our house and throwing things we paid for and some love into the trash rather than just giving us an expansion, what will you be offering loyal players and fans who you're stealing the base game and 3 expansions from? Other than keeping our items, you're still stealing game play. What will you offer us in return for our money spent on the previous titles? Will you give us those gear getting vaulted? Will you give us legacy access to old content? Will you give us our own planet? $120 worth of silver or refund? Or will you turn into an EA level company and not give a crap about stealing from your customers?
I've loved Destiny since D1. Its been one of my all time favorite franchises, but this is a very shady move removing paid for levels, games, and quests without any compensation. I never thought that when I purchased Beyond Light I was paying you guys to throw away my games. Maybe I'm just misreading this update and its my frustration talking, this seems really shady. Not sure if this violates any legal customer agreements or practices. I remember agreeing to buy expansions, but not gut what I paid for. Its like I bought Halo 2, but you took away my copy of Halo 1 without asking because I purchased it.

User agreements are being abused by many tech companies. You either agree to a new set of rules, or your product, app or game will no longer work. Imagine buying a car with onboard navigation. The car company suddenly “updates” the software to record what you say. If you decline your car no longer starts, but hey, you agreed that they might change stuff when you bought the car. Sounds fair by Bungie logic.

sideswipeにより編集済み: 8/26/2020 2:43:42 AMWe don’t own jack, this whole game is on lease, always has been. They could jump ship next week and you won’t see a nickel. Gone are the days of owning a game. It’s all moving to access only while it lasts. And if you ***ORDER NOW, you’ll get a second packet of FULL-FORCE-LUBE, - “Because double the meat is double the sweet!”

I am not a fan of any destination being removed, and I’m not a huge fan of the direction the game is heading. I would’ve much rather have had a Destiny 3, but that’s not the direction the game is going. I took breaks, but never a two year break such as yourself. Every expansion/Season I have purchased, I have gotten my money’s worth out of whether I was a fan of it or not. I’ve had access to Vanilla, CoO, and Warmind for 2-3 years now,and so have you, and I have done everything there is to do out of those. I purchased Forsaken and the Annual Pass during the time and did everything there is to do out of those. On the topic of Forsaken, the Seasonal content is disappearing, but the rest is not. This includes Menagerie, Reckoning, and the Forges. The Dreaming City, Tangled Shore and their activities are remaining. You returned on August 16th which is after the direction the game is going in had already been announced. I don’t know how to say this without being a douche, but the best advice I could give you on that one, is to research a bit more before purchases. As for Shadowkeep, since you returned on August 16th, the same douche comment would apply with the purchase of Shadowkeep. Don’t take this as me defending Bungie because I’m not a fan of this either but I’m also not one to ask for compensation for something I’ve had 2-3 years of experiences out of from a video game perspective.

18 通の返信I'm sorry OP. The white knights have risen en masse to defend their beloved masters. They don't understand that we are sold on a product or service based on what it has to offer. A house-cleaning service, for example, cannot decide to suddenly remove all bedrooms and bathrooms from its service after you paid in full for all the rooms. I know the analogy is a stretch but the logic is still sound. You are not wrong to feel cheated. You and people like you bought into this product based on the promise of certain content and locations in game. Content that will now be removed regardless of whether you had the chance to experience it. Our "friends" here can defend the License Agreement (EULA) as much as they like...but this move remains unethical and reeks of douchy-ness. The game may survive this but the bad taste will remain and a large part of the community will be lost.

TimeSplitter510により編集済み: 8/23/2020 6:14:08 PMFirst, agree with you and wish the game would/could just 'Expand Forever' But, note, you have until November 10th (not 3 weeks) to do anything you want from the content that will be vaulted. Additionally, by my view point, I have never and likely will never run out of things to do in Destiny, so will just keep playing/enjoying. Adding a deadline is actually a good kick in the butt to experience things that I might otherwise just perpetually procrastinate on.

As every thing it's in the detail, fine print says Bungie can do whatever they want with the content, we are just renting access. Whether you would consider that ethical is a completely different question. As the Forbes guy says Destiny is a subscription service now, personally I think they have been a bit sneaky in not been more open about it. Sunsetting is more an issue for me in that all the time and effort into master working something is wasted effort and you are back to been at the mercy of that stingy RNG god re god rolls and weapons that you like. Grind is going to be a constant theme going forward. I will still play as very interested in how the story goes forward but it will be with my eyes open and will be playing how I want to play

2 通の返信Crota bin Oryxにより編集済み: 8/22/2020 5:14:36 PMSorry, as much as I hate Bungie and its shady practices, the agreement we accepted before playing the games states this clearly:
LIVE AND TIME-LIMITED GAME ELEMENTS: Your use of the Program involves interaction with Bungie’s live game environment. The Program and its live game environment change over time. Bungie does not guarantee that you will be able to participate in all events or earn all in-game achievements. Access to some Live Content may require additional purchase. Some in-game elements, including without limitation, Live Content associated with season passes, are made available to players for a limited time. Where season pass Live Content is time-limited, Bungie will use reasonable efforts to communicate this to you within the Program or otherwise. Bungie may extend the time-limit for Live Content, including season passes, at its option with or without advanced notice. Fees charged for time-limited content are based on access to the applicable content during the time period indicated at the time of purchase, and apply whether or not you actually access the content. Season pass rewards earned during a given season must be redeemed during that season, unless Bungie elects to provide a grace period for redemption in its sole discretion.
Also, as for ownership.... all you own is a license to play the game. You don't own the game or its content which you earn or grind for.
LIMITED USE LICENSE: Bungie grants you the non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable, limited right and license to install and use one copy of this Program solely for your non-commercial use. All rights not specifically granted are reserved by Bungie. The Program is licensed, not sold, for your use. Your license confers no title or ownership in this Program, and should not be construed as a sale of any rights in this Program. This Agreement shall also apply to patches or updates you may obtain for the Program, unless that patch or update is accompanied by additional terms as provided in the section regarding “Changes to the Agreement” below. I actually agree with you and worse of it’s now going on gamepass the same disc you’ve payed for and the new expansions is there too with 60 quid on top ok I get seasons and the new no time to explain along with some additional extras that’s supposed to be a pre order exclusive Then to get shot in the arse and say hey it’s refundable and it’s still going on gamepass so yep they’re nearly there with EA no loyality with the good old destiny fans

Theft is to take ones property without permission. We pay for a software license to play the game with the agreed acknowledgement of the terms of service. Key words there are "agreed" and "service". You must agree to their terms in order to play. And they provide a form of entertainment service. It's never our property aside from a hard copy disc, which even if we sold it to a third party they would in fact also have to agree to the terms of service in order to play. Gaming is an entertainment business first, if people are no longer entertained then it's up to them if they wish to continue buying the product. The money spent by the consumer is solely for entertainment of the consumer abiding by the terms of service rendered by the company providing it. Example: When you purchase a movie ticket for the purpose of being entertained, there is a real possibility that the movie may not be to your liking. But there is also an expectation by the particular theater that you will not cause a disturbance to others and follow safety guidelines while watching the movie. They have the right do to their terms to ask you to leave. Just like the terms of service for destiny, the developer has the right to change, modify or halt a particular service or item for whatever reason they see fit for the health of the game. Hope that explains it in some way?

If you live in the US, you have an alternative that others like me don't have: You can file a formal complaint with the Washington State Attorney General for false or misleading consumer advertising. If it does fall within those parameters, Bungie could be fined heavily. But it's a shot in the dark since I'm not a lawyer and neither are the people that reply. Successful lawyers don't really have time to play video games lol But it's an option for you if you want to pursue it. I have a feeling it would be taken more seriously if enough people file. Link below. https://fortress.wa.gov/atg/formhandler/ago/ComplaintForm.aspx

We have one thing in common -- WE PLAY IT!

5 通の返信seriously i think this is even illegal many ppl bought skins with real money... this must be illegal. What are they doing now, no one ever did in any game. All to accommodate for console players?
