It’s already built in to the microtransactions scam model. They over price everything so more people buy items on “sale” because they think the weapon skin is worth $12 or whatever so when they pay $7 for it they think they saved money. It’s a classic mobile games dev tactic.
Hmm, and some people think Bungie is "hurting". Did you ever hear about the job offer Bungie was offering for Eververse just before Forsaken? Someone likes their new job...
I did not hear about that. Hell I’ve seen enough YouTube videos about microtransactions to rip players off no problem. Fans are always going to say ridiculous things to defend game makers. They can’t help it. They buy all the obvious lies they are told. They think that critical discussion about how game makers do business is attacking them personally.
Well said. BUT....unfortunately the loudest voice gets heard. And who complains the loudest?
I mean most days it doesn’t even matter. Bungie is going to do whatever they want and what benefits them. I just get bummed seeing players defend them instead of looking out for themselves.

I get when a company is actually trying to do right by their player base on why some would defend them, Bungie Bungie has done so much wrong it's mind-boggling why some do other than thinking this is the norm on how things should be but its quite the opposite.

Be being a fan of Destiny (like me) some players conflate that as being part of their identity and ego (being a destiny fan). Those people then see any criticism of the game and Bungie’s decisions as attacks on their identity/ego. I understand it, but don’t agree with it, and really think people need to level up their thinking and free their mind. People see the posts that are hyperbolic straight rants against Bungie and insults towards the game as toxic to the game and other players. I think they are important because it’s a real person having a real reaction to the game and sometimes it’s one I even agree with. So I would like to see it changed as much as the person posting. The end goal is a better experience for everyone.
That's sales tactics. Retail does it all the time espe ially around holidays.
That’s different, that is to sell massive amounts of inventory that isn’t being sold at full price. Digital items aren’t inventory.
Now that we're accusing bungie of actual criminal activity. Why don't you go ahead and sue them, and bring the tons of evidence you have that back up your claim?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Criminal activity? Try reading the post again. Immoral business practice isn’t criminal. So thirsty for confrontation any strawman will do I guess.

Yes what you described is illegal, and therefore criminal activity. Jc Penney, kohl's, and sears have all been sued for this before. With the 2 former settling for a collective 56 million... Secondly, what I wrote is not a strawman. As it bears no intention to refute anything you've said or counter any argument you've made. All it does is ask why aren't you suing them for their criminal activity that you are accusing them of?
At the very least it's illegal to do so in California. As well as the UK and Australia I'll check for the other states. And other countries
I’m not convinced we are talking about the same thing but okay, and please site sources so I can read the laws thanks.

Smoughにより編集済み: 11/11/2019 4:59:32 PMMarking an item as “on sale” when the “sale” price is actually the normal price is illegal. So if bungie released an item for $10 claiming that it’s half off (to get people to want to buy it more) when the $10 is the starting price and there was actually no sale, then that would be illegal.
I found this about it after some searching to actually confirm I was right: “Some consumer protection laws prohibit retailers from claiming an item is on sale from an original, non-sale, price if they haven't actually offered the item at that price within the last three months”
