This is the result of every crying about pulse rifles, then snipers, and now were left with shotguns. Maybe this time actually buff the primaries that are lacking and undo some of that sniper flinch and shit will be ok again.

You say "easily" when it's really not. Even before the nerf, sniping someone who's hitting you with a scout rifle or long-range pulse rifle was far from easy or consistent. You have a limited chance to pull off the shot in-between their shots, and it takes a lot of luck and practice.

Those are the things I was saying all along but really shotguns always have had too much range than they should. A shotgun with a big fat white circle to aim with and all the mobility options in game should be something more like a quick switch secondary preparing to get a kill within melee range. At around melee range it makes sense for it to be an insta 1 shot alternative to melees which only take half health.
