That equates to $1.7 trillion USD. We CAN do that. It's just a matter of when governments are no longer controlled by corporate greed.

Regardless of wasting all that money on the "war on poverty," the poverty status in America has not changed. They could've used that money for the exact thing you're complaining about. Stop trying to say we overspend on war because clearly we wasted money on a foolish cause that fixed nothing lol

14 通の返信Remember when America stopped being America in the Middle East, and due to the lack of power there, ISIS started to be a problem? That spending is there for a reason.

3 通の返信People in the third world countries are dying from hunger and the people in the first world countries are dying from obesity. That's the real problem here.

It does not take much to end hunger however until third world governments and leaders are dethroned no amount of money will fix the problem. For example Haiti. 100's of millions were sent as disaster relieve and yet that country still looks like how it was years ago. Why? Well our government and organizations gives it to their government and they keep it and do very little to help their people. So in reality when we give to many of these countries 10% or less actually get to the people, services, emergency aid or even basic infrastructure while the rest goes into leaders pockets so they can help their interests.

10 通の返信How about we continue to strengthen the security of the country with those funds and keep it's citizens safe. Other nations are not our problem. The old "Teach a man to fish..." applies here.

2 通の返信All these comments "don't worry about other countries" But what about here in the US :) child starvation in America exists too (what was it 1 in 5)?

17 通の返信Tell that to russia and china which are both currently building their military up to a fighting capacity. No thanks, being caught with our pants down isn't worth that, if we get beat there is no hope. Everyone else would simply lay down and do nothing. History supports this statement!

20 通の返信Explain why I should care? They're warring, under tyrannical rule that steals the food we give them, incredibly hostile in many areas, and will continue to leach off the world for decades and maybe centuries for little to no benefit. Then you have the problem of them producing like rabbits and so the costs would EXPONENTIALLY increase to the point of unsustainability

3 通の返信You also have to factor in logistics. It isn't just an issue of throwing "x" amount of money at the problem. You have the issues of acquisition, distribution, and preservation. Those need to be taken care of, and I assume the people taking care of them expect to get paid.
