Why is 343 a respected developer?
For most developers, if you screw up once you lose nearly all credibility. 343 has certainly screwed up way more than once. Halo 4, MCC, single-handedly killing off competitive Halo.
I simply don't understand why people continue to excuse their mistakes while shitting on other developers. If you can support a developer that fuсks up as much as 343 than I think you can support any developer, no matter how shitty.
My personal belief is that they've catered to the lowest common denominator, the people who just don't care about what the game they're playing is. The people who's only reasoning behind 343's changes are "game has to be modern" and not backing it up with any reasoning. These people will devotedly follow any developer as long as they are given compensation.
What do you think?
Edit: From the replies it looks like it's simply ignorance on the fans part, purposely ignoring the bad while only focusing on the (limited) good.

3 通の返信In the eyes of many Halo fans like myself I show little respect towards them and it mostly has to do with there games playing like COD and also how they can take a beloved vehicle, armor, character, etc and give it a shitty new make over. Example: The new Wraith

2 通の返信Respected? You know at least half of the currently existing fanbase absolutely hate them, right? The internet was almost unanimous in agreeing that the 343 Reach NSZB Title Update was absolute ass cancer and Halo 4's Multiplayer and story direction was the series equivalent of Metroid: Other M. Nobody had their pitch forks ready for MCC because it was generally viewed as something they were incapable of messing up, but lo and behold the netcode was even worse than every single one of Bungie's games combined, and stayed that way for 5 months after launch. At no point have I seen 343i get praise, except by the occasional shill who gets buttblasted by dissenting opinion, and Logfish a few years ago (and every man and his dog knows he's just a troll).

In my mind 343 are far from a reputable company, basically for the reasons stated above, the whole MCC debacle is something you just don't come back from for me. I ignored everything about halo 5 after that disaster and by the sounds of it am glad I did.

They are newer developers and i think they are doing fine. Everyone points out their flaws so fast but name one developer that hasn't had major flops (I guess except blizzard). So quit with the hate. Plus how did 343 kill competitive gaming? Pretty sure they just had world series not to long ago.

2 通の返信Eh, I suppose it's because 343 was a portion of bungie in it's 'lustrous halo days'. I'm at the point that I've lost respect for the company and its inability to capture what Halo 2, 3 and Reach could.

I'm no fan boy but all I know is that I've been a fan since combat evolved and I don't absolutely hate 4 or 5. The MCC thing was a major annoyance but I still like all the Halo games. I don't see the point in starting to hate some of the games.

My opinion: they did screw up Halo with 4 and the MCC, but Halo 5 is a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. It is by no means a great Halo, but it is decent. If not for the monthly free dlc, and 343 starting to listen to us, I would agree with you.
