I'm proud to be part of the Destiny community. It's a vibrant family of artists, directors, lore freaks, PvP'ers, and PvE'ers. However since Destiny's release 14 months ago, Bungie has been heavily criticized and even harassed due to the disaster that was vanilla Destiny and the facade that was Year 1. Ever since, we've fought as a community; elitists against casuals, noobs vs vets and haters vs fanboys about what's wrong with the game and what needs to be fixed. Nerf this? Nerf that? Buff this? Buff that?
We can't agree on anything and when Bungie tries to make amends for their mistakes, we just complain and hate on them even more. We can never be satisfied, we can never be thankful for anything Bungie does to improve the situation. All the majority of our community does is brutally chastise Bungie, spouting ad hominums out of our mouths, acting like irrational man-children when we should be calmly providing feedback. For example, recently, Bungie brought back Year 1 weapons after we begged for their return, but all we did after was point fingers, saying Bungie refuses to provide fresh content. We act like spoiled brats. We act like Bungie hasn't done anything good and they must fix everything immediately or we'll leave the community. There's a constant stream of self-entitled players who announce their "dramatic" departure from the game, thinking it'll make a difference when in actuality, they're only making themselves feel better.
I'm a pessimist by nature but even I understand how to look on the bright side sometimes. Many of our fellow guardians don't. Bungie has screwed up yes. Yes there need to be some changes or the game will die out. Yes we have a right to be angry, but they're really not the biggest problem right now, we are; and it's for not being rational when providing feedback, acting like the self-entitled snowflakes that think we have the perfect answers and so on.
We all agree Destiny could be better yes? So what we should be doing is expressing ourselves in a more mature and rational manner, in order to better clarify what we want and how it should be done. We should fight for content for casuals and hardcore players, we should unite as a community and together, help make Destiny the game that was originally promised to us.
EDIT: Due to an overwhelming demand for paragraphs, I have edited the post to implement them.
LiamCDM out.

I agree on one thing ppl cry to much for nerfs .Which because Destiny does not have a system in place to keep PvP and pve content apart like most games .I myself have found my self returning too wow after 1 year of being gone .And I remember how much better the PvP and pve content is and how much better the drops are compared to Destiny which by the way is rng also .

Kinda see where you're coming from but when you release a game with very little content and rely on its addictive nature to keep players coming back then mixed feedback is to be expected. They could release a bag of dog shit for $20 and people would buy it. It literally has become that stupid. Some of their decisions up until now have been laughable. From the constant buffing/nerfing of weapons/subclasses to the loot system incorporated in this game to the microtransactions, recommend a friend, etc etc. I have enjoyed playing this game (as my hours played will show). Just can't be bothered with the crap any more.

You are right. This is only a $120 beta game that has lasted over a year.... we should have known to expect some problems, before its proper release in Destiny 2 next year. "WE ARE THE PROBLEM"... I should have realised so long ago... the over reaction I was having to being sweetly shafted by non- lubricated bungivision dildos. ./sarcasm

2 通の返信As much as I agree you know how unlikely it is that others will share your view. As you said "We are never satisfied" so i sincerely doubt that anyone will come to this understanding, but we can always hope right?

Lordsa Jar-Jarにより編集済み: 11/25/2015 9:35:05 AMI don't know man, I really couldn't be bothered tbh. Let them do what they want, it's not worth arguing over anymore Destiny isn't the only game, instead of trying to fix their "mistakes" we should support devs that actually care about their game.

Bungie doesn't cater to the community nor do they care about 90% of the complaints on the forums. The employees don't go home and loose sleep over what a bunch of people on the forums said. They know people are gonna complain about anything and everything. If it's not a fundamental problem or gamebreaking issue it's simply not enough for them to cater to. They make adjustments as they see fit as a result of how the employees at Bungie feel about in game issues. Not because a bunch of people on the forums asked for it or complained their way into it

5 通の返信
"they must fix everything immediately" "Destiny's release 14 months ago"
Immediately, after 14 months?
Yes we have a right to be angry
And yet according to you, people who are angry are self-entitled spoiled brats and irrational man-children. So who exactly is the immature here? Anyone who doesn't agree with you?
help make Destiny the game that was originally promised to us
That's the crux of it isn't it? It's NOT the game they promised. They lied and keep lying. It's not our responsibility to make this game worthwhile. Their promises, their game. Just my opinion of course.

12 通の返信Bungie apologist confirmed. No, they should be held accountable for their mistakes which have been numerous since vanilla.

I've tried so hard to defend destiny as well but now I'm starting to really see the lackluster side of it and as much as it pains me to say this, I've lost faith in bungie. Right now it just seems like they keep recycling old content and areas and cram it down our throat and l get us really excited to buy something that was probably already in the game. Enough is enough. I'll keep playing sparingly but until bungie can show a HUGE improvement then I won't be buying anything else from them and if you truly strive for this game to hit its potential then I suggest you do the same.

So many responses are -blam!-ing essays. I agree with most of this. Only part I don't is the "amending for their mistakes." They tried to charge us more than $40 for TTK which should've been around $20. I still like it though just not worth the extra $20.

Of all the great ideas floating around on these forums how many have been implemented or even considered? How many glitches or bugs that adversely effect the players in pve have been fixed? How many times have we been told one thing and then given something different (usually not as good)? C'mon, this game has been out for over a year and you're still defending Bungie and blaming the community. The player base has every right to be pissed. Why do you think so many players have left recently? Most were just waiting for anything else to play other than destiny. Now they have a choice and they've mostly all left.

13 通の返信I... half agree. Bungie/Activision is most at fault though. There's a reason we're so rabid and it's because they rattled our cage already. -console exclusive content -pre-order bonus from another game for something in this game -The Dark Below was VERY shallow on content. If you disagree, look what $12 in Mario Kart 8 or $20 in Hyrule Warriors can get you. Go on. I'll wait. -console exclusive DLC content -Red Bull Quest -Collector's Edition for a DLC -Bungie tried (and thankfully failed) to make people pay $80 for content, most of which they already owned -console exclusive DLC content AGAIN -Microtransactions -Events paid for by microtransactions that incentivize us to pay for more microtransactions -"Events" was purposefully vague and Bungie took no effort to dispel the "free DLC!" rumors that were literally all over the internet until after people spent a fortune to support that new business model -Refer A Friend -opaque communication wall between Bungie and fans. They very rarely tell us anything that won't make them any sort of money. It took them over two months to tell us why half the exotic armors (that are in their website database) weren't in the loot table. Technically they still haven't! Bungie has done a lot to garner as much hate as they get. It's not like they weren't loved and praised by everyone before this; hell, they were immortal in the eyes of gamers. Now they're a joke. That wasn't an easy transition, but they did it. Them. Not us.

Totally agree, I have said many times that the constructive criticism becomes white noise because of the cacophony of whiny self entitled morons demanded this or that. We screw ourselves over, daily. Unfortunately, Bungie, to their credit, do listen to the communty and act upon the comments they receive. This breeds self entitlement in people and also means by definition that acting upon some peoples wishes, they will alienate others. They are damned if they do and damned if they dont. Be careful what you wish for people, you might just get it.
-
You're wrong op. By posting this you're encouraging bungies screw ups. By passing the buck blaming the community. You know this forum is a minority of actual players right? Everyone complains even the professionals. From Mr fruit to gothalion to planet destiny They're not blind fanboys and theyre making money off this game.

I agree with you but I don't agree with people complaining about a grind this game is easy and the drop rates for me and a lot of my friends are great I enjoy chasing things I really want I got all 3 raid helmets in one day completed all 3 hard raids in 3 hours (my team was awesome!!) I don't buy gear from xur because I like to earn it (no I don't shame people or say anyone xurned gear I'm not that guy) I do like reaching for more and trying harder to make myself a better gamer. I delt with nuke drops left in right mods and everything else on mw2 I didn't rage quit or say the game was broken I had fun. I just got my last exotic piece of gear today I no longer need any more exotics so it's back to trying to reach max grimoire for me (like I said I like to challenge and push myself) maybe I'm weird so be it I've been gaming longer than most of you I've got 16 years under my belt if any one has a right to complain it's the Titans of gaming and we don't have a problem. $140 spent in over a year for one game? You spend more for that garbage you call food in a drive through watered down gas and over priced clothing than you ever did on destiny let's get that straight right now. Good read OP

24 通の返信See, here's the thing. If year 1 was a disaster and facade why did you still play? If a game is that bad, trade it, return it. People complain about this game so much, yet tbh, it was bloody fantastic. I had a freakin great time playing year 1. TTK made it even better. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your post, but was Destiny really that bad for you in year 1?
