Morale is a consequence of PvP being completely broken. SBMM is not existing anymore, the so called protection system supposedly working in Control definitely not working as I can tell from being matched to 300k+ kills/2.x+ KDA/Flawless/Glorious players constantly. Not one, not two, many in almost all games. And no, with 1.1 KDA bronze I don't believe I should match them. Add constant network problems with severe if not extreme lag making kills impossible. Maybe cheating but I assume it's more a result of network. Why would or should anyone endure that mess? I am here for fun not suffering from unplayable games or if playable playing nonstop the best of the best sweating like it was eSports championships. MM issues might be a consequence of low player population but technical not. Bottom line player morale is low cause Bungie's working morale having abandoned Crucible entirely is presumably not existing anymore.

  • SBMM in Control is so loose it is marketed as "Outlier Protection". However, even those "loose" protections (combined with Lobby Balancing) prevent the blow-outs that are happening nearly every game in GG Supremacy. Its hard to complain about SBMM when we see the result of NOT having anything at all. I haven't noticed a huge surge of lagging players, but I have noticed way longer queue times. I'll say this: No one should ever play PVP expecting to win every game or get "fair" matchups. It should be challenging... You are playing other people, after all. Difficulty is relative, but even top players struggle. You can have fun in PVP if you go in with a "practice" or "forgiving" mindset... In other words, don't put the expectation on yourself to win. You should strive to win (because "caring" / "trying" is engaging and fun for a lot of ppl), but don't EXPECT the win. Focus on doing your best, and have mercy on yourself. The shift in mindset will likely improve your satisfaction, especially when losing games. If winning is important, then you need to figure out where to improve. The only way to do that is to play challenging games and try different playstyles against tough teams. One of the best ways to instantly improve is to consistently play with a dedicated group of players. Playing as a group allows your team tactics to improve along with your personal mechanics.

Brother! Really. I like PvP and I don't mind a challenge. I also don't mind losing as long it's a good and halfway balanced aka fair game. All I am saying is that the matchmaking changed for whatever reason to the worse. There is no outlier protection. In the past (weeks ago!) I might have seen one or two significantly better players in a Control game. Currently it's the normal state. I have just played a Control game. Now. In order to challenge or prove my assumptions. Blowout. The first 5 players on the winning enemy game have/had the following stats. I am not making these numbers up. Lifetime kills/Season KDA/Kills in game/game KDA 1) 318k/2.21/30/3.33 2) 150k/2.76/32/8.0 3) 209k/1.41/20/1.67 4) 28k/2.37/18/2.0 5) 15k/2.0/16/2.29 In the past I might have seen one! from 1)-3) in a game if at all, certainly not three of them. Something is off right now. You don't see/feel it cause you are playing in the same league/skill bracket but for guys like me it's obvious.

  • Were the teams balanced? What were the other team's seasonal K/Ds? Was it a big fireteam or a bunch of solos? Just curious. Control is supposed to have Lobby Balancing, so I would expect your team to have nearly the same MMRs as the other team.

  • Well, that sucks. Sounds like Lobby Balancing didnt work so well in that game.

  • This is very true, and while i do agree nobody should have to go through unbearable matchmaking, i do wonder whats your opinion when the matchmaking is pretty balanced yet the same thing still takes place. I had a control match which we lost horribly against a very sweaty team, Next game, Same Team, Same Teamates, We had a crazy biteback, then everyone on the enemy team left once that happened including a bunch of baggers and emote spammers. Id Also Like To ask, Whats the point in queuing up into "death simulator", running the same old stale builds, just to leave when "death simulator" is true to its name. My point is, Expectations for performance shouldn't be high (in non comp matches), and with that in mind, It shouldn't hurt to try something new, switch it up a bit knowing the outcome. Thats how i ended up creating some of my most insane unorthodox builds for consistency and survivability by running things people normally wouldnt bat an eye at (which is why i love playing off-meta). Its hard to have fun when you repeat the same patterns in gameplay, thats one thing i understood with having to "learn to lose" in order to actually "win" in retrospect.
